If you're voting by mail in Missouri your ballot affidavit MUST be notarized

If you fail to get your affidavit (on the back of your ballot envelope) notarized, your ballot WILL be rejected. You will not be notified, you do not get the chance to vote again. Your ballot has already been "cast" but will not count.

Keep in mind that notary's CANNOT charge a fee to notarize election mail. ONLY sign your name on the affidavit once you are in front of the notary public.

The ONLY circumstances under which the notary requirement is waived is if you are voting absentee by mail due to "Incapacity or confinement due to illness or disability", if you are voting from an active duty military position, or a citizen living overseas.

It’s a great time to check your voter registration!

Missouri’s Secretary of State is posting stuff about identifying and removing “non-citizens, felons, deceased people”, and other ineligible folks on the voters rolls. The registration deadline to vote in Missouri’s primary in August is next week (July 8)!

Citizens of Ferguson: How do you feel about your Mayor?

Ferguson's (former, as of April 2026) Mayor, Ella Jones, is running for County Council District 1, but I don't know that much about her (or the incumbent Rita Days, admittedly). Would be glad to hear from the folks who she serves before getting to my ballot in the primary.

Grateful for your time/feedback!

Any folks from the St. Louis Metro Area planning to trek to Chicago or Kansas City for the movie screening?

Because of my Job I have to be at work Monday morning - non negotiable 😔. If I went it would be a trek there, watch the movie, and a trek back on the same day (which would be totally worth it). Just wondering if anyone else from “fly over country” is considering a trip. I would be glad to share resources/company. I’m so hype for the movie. I’m crushed it’s not coming to St. Louis.

Hello all. I come seeking your advice and guidance.
Last week a massive storm rolled through my area. Winds up to 60-70 mph, hail, lightening, the works. While I was waiting out the storm water started dripping from the ceiling. My house was built in 1930 and has an addition from the 1970’s. The water was dripping from where those two points meet.
After everything cleared out, I hopped on the roof (with supervision) and I’m pretty sure I’ve found the culprit: there are gaps where the old part of the house and the addition meet. Could I just take some roof sealant/caulk to this and call it a day or should I call a professional to handle this? If I can handle this myself, should I scrape off the old crusty stuff first?
Thank you all for your time.
