Miso (1yo) recognizes animals on TV, and she's been loving God of War: Ragnarok, especially when your character turns into a wolf!
Smoked Picanha roast
Yesterday's cook.
Second time I've cooked on my dad's Traeger. The thin end was closer to med/med well but still really flavorful. I was worried the fat cap hadn't rendered enough but it was just fine.
Sliced it in half and then made some thin slices out to the edges. My wife, parents, and myself enjoyed it with some corn in the husk and some smoked potatoes. Took a couple slices to my parents' neighbors, left my parents some for steak sandwiches today, and my wife and I still had a couple slices for our own sandwiches that we will have for our lunches tomorrow.
Third time I've cooked Picanha now and I think it's easily a contender for my favorite cut of steak. Tender, flavorful, juicy, and cheaper than a lot of steak cuts, so the price/value is about perfect for me.
Boba started playing tug of war with her big little sis Miso. It's mostly been chase and Bitey Face up to now. :)
Miso's best friend Gambel comes over every Thursday for a playdate. They will play Bitey-Face-Game for 4 hours straight! He's only about 7mo so he's growing every time we see him.
Boba has been playing so well with her Frenchton puppy sister, Miso. Boba is even starting to steal the toys back from Miso instead of just accepting the loss.
2 pork butts on my offset. About 13 hrs with red oak, 4.5 hr hot hold. 11.5lbs of pulled pork. 5 lbs of it mixed with more rub for spicy pulled pork.
I was tasked with doing pulled pork for our 4th of July party. I'll be vacuum sealing these and then reheating in my sous vide and slowly bringing them back to 145°F before serving.
Smoked last night using red oak. Took about 11 hours + 4.5 hours of holding in an igloo cooler. The juices were leaking out all on their own!! (Bonus pic of the ribs and chickens I did yesterday too. It was a busy day)
This is my second brisket cook. I learned a lot from my first one and tried to correct my errors with this one. I am extremely happy with this since I paid almost as much for the meat as I did for the smoker I cooked it on haha.
My wife is 100% on board with me getting a 100gal offset now. :)
