Life is Strange 2 is honestly the better game and I don’t think it’s even comparable to Life is Strange 1 anymore.

LIS1 walked so LIS2 could run. The first game has the more iconic setting and powers, sure, but LIS2 feels way more mature, emotional, and realistic. Sean and Daniel’s relationship carries the entire game in a way Max and Chloe honestly never did for me. Every episode in LIS2 actually feels like a road trip where your decisions matter because your little brother is constantly learning from you.

People always say LIS1 has the “better vibe” because of Arcadia Bay and the soundtrack, but LIS2’s atmosphere is way more grounded. It feels lonely, uncomfortable, and unpredictable on purpose. The racism, the constant moving, never being safe anywhere — it makes the journey hit harder because you’re watching two kids lose their childhood in real time.

And the choices in LIS2 actually change Daniel’s personality and the endings in a meaningful way. In LIS1 most people just picked Bay or Bae at the end and that was basically it. LIS2 has multiple endings that genuinely feel earned depending on how you raised Daniel throughout the whole game.

I also think Sean is massively underrated as a protagonist. He doesn’t have time powers, he’s not “special,” he’s just trying to survive and protect his brother while his life falls apart. That makes him way more relatable to me.
