What is Dark PR and What is "Kompromat" & Fake News: How to deal with 'Dark PR'

What is Dark PR and What is "Kompromat" & Fake News: How to deal with 'Dark PR'

Quotes From the above article (article published by a security firm):

"The court of public opinion is one of many battlegrounds in a dispute, and a negative PR campaign can sometimes be the vanguard of a coordinated attack in the press, the courts, or at the corporate level. You need to understand the campaign and, if possible, its wider context and objectives in order to prepare your defences". NOTE: Court of Public Opinion is one of Freedman FAVOURITE TALKING POINTS for all of his cases!!

'KOMPROMAT' is information intended to inflict reputational damage. In the corporate context, it usually refers to spurious allegations published online under the guise of journalism. Kompromat is typically unsupported by evidence or otherwise unverifiable.

'DARK PR' AS AN INDUSTRY

"The phrase ‘dark PR’ itself originated in Russia, and it is there that the practice is most engrained in the business culture. Smear campaigns are increasingly common in Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Asia, and by no means unheard of in Western Europe or the USA. But in Russia they have been refined to an art form – or, rather, a business".

"Today, there is a sophisticated and developed market for planting ‘fake news’ (kompromat) to create a media storm while avoiding any legal liability for the outcomes. The focus of this market has shifted from serving political objectives to serving commercial ones, and sophisticated online propaganda and disinformation is increasingly being targeted at companies"

New York Post: Court rules ‘Deb’ producers’ defamation case against Rebel Wilson can move forward

NYP Article

Quotes from article:

"Rebel Wilson is going to have to prove in court that she wasn’t making up the appalling allegations she made against producers on her film “The Deb,” a judge ruled on Wednesday".

"The “Pitch Perfect” star had claimed on social media that the movie’s co-producer Amanda Ghost had sexually assaulted its star, Charlotte MacIness, and that her fellow execs Gregor Cameron and Vince Holden had “embezzled funds from the film’s budget.”

"Wilson tried to get their suit thrown out earlier this year, but a court sided with Ghost, Cameron and Holden and let it stand. Wilson appealed that decision, but the appeals court once again sided with her adversaries".

"Camille Vasquez, is repping the group and she told page Six, “[Wilson] has had ample time and countless opportunities to retract her appalling allegations and issue an apology.”

"Vasquez added, “Instead, she hoped California’s free-speech protections would shield her from accountability. That cynical legal gamble has spectacularly backfired, as the Court of Appeal concluded that the producers have a ‘probability of prevailing’ on their defamation claim against Wilson. This case is now heading to trial, and we look forward to seeing her in court.”

"Meanwhile, Wilson’s counsel Allyson Thompson, responded: “The Court agreed with Ms. Wilson that the Los Angeles Superior Court should have ruled that prong one was satisfied, which was the issue being appealed.  The Court did rule that there is a dispute as to the facts thus Plaintiff met their burden to put on their case in the lower court.  Ms. Wilson now has the opportunity to finally undertake discovery and to defend against the claims brought by Plaintiffs.  The truth is the ultimate defense.  Ms. Wilson looks forward to proving the truth of her statements.”

Smear and Retaliation Continues - Megyn Kelly Minion Maureen Callahan says she will not stop until Blake Lively is 'Permanently Removed from Culture'!

Maureen Kelly YouTube

Looks like Megyn Kelly podcast network is doubling down and NOT STOPPING its ongoing hateful coverage of Blake Lively.

I do very much wonder if Wayfarer and Freedman are continuing to pay for this ongoing smear and retaliation coverage from Kelly (who is a former and current client of Freedman).

Stunning stuff to see this all still going on after after the settlement and it looks like THE BAD PLACE folks have simply migrated to the Maureen Callahan comments section!

Daily Mail Archive Article Link

As if 10,000 youtube posts and videos and selling merchandise for OVER 2 years on this case, Kjersti Flaa does YET ANOTHER article with the Daily Mail's Lillian Gessen and seeks to yet again craft a narrative not based on any reality that I am aware of.

Buckle up to see the hate drip from the tongues of Megyn Kelly and Maureen Callahan about Blake Lively and the Settlement

Kelly looks like she is YET AGAIN reading off a script for her discussion of Lively and the case and my guess is that the DM Callahan office was YET ANOTHER 'reposting' by Callahan.

So fascinating to see the SMEAR and RETALIATION CONTINUE even once the case was dismissed.

AT WHAT POINT DOES THE LIVELY SMEAR END? New York Post Article: Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni’s legal battle isn’t over yet — as actress gets brutally trolled by co-star’s lawyer

Dr. Leslie, well known foe of Bryan Freedman, does a short video of congratulations to Blake Lively on her decisive WIN in the litigation.

Haven't seen Dr. Leslie this animated in awhile but I applaud her enthusiasm. Her comment about the interview with Billy Bush NEVER AIRING was QUITE INTERESTING.
