The Governing Body are ruthless old men that will DO LITERALLY ANYTHING dishonest, immoral or illegal to keep ruling as kings at the top of the massive Jehovah's Witness global religious cult. We shouldn't be surprised by anything they do.

The Governing Body are ruthless old men that will DO LITERALLY ANYTHING dishonest, immoral or illegal to continue sitting as kings at the top of the massive global religious cult organization they now rule.

They will keep or change any of their rules, policies or doctrines - we should expect this and not be surprised.

As a Bethelite for many years I learned The Governing Body has three important goals:

  1. The Governing Body is focused on getting more money through any means possible.
  2. The Governing Body is focused on getting JW adherents/members to work for free on their endless projects or as a slave for meaningless Jehovah's Witness Hamster Wheel Activity™.
  3. The Governing Body is focused on getting more real estate investments through buying and building as many properties as possible.

So, The Governing Body will absolutely do ANYTHING to keep ruling as kings of this cult. They will change anything and they will keep anything if they think it will preserve their position as kings of this religion:

  • Yes, they will continue International and Special Conventions that are essentially megachurch rallies with dancing, balloons and regional ethnic dress cosplaying.
  • Yes, they will keep protecting pedophiles.
  • Yes, they will keep letting people die with their murderous No-Blood policy.
  • Yes, they will continue demanding more money from JW adherents.
  • Yes, they continue making endless meaningless rules about JWs daily life.
  • Yes, they will continue their shunning policy.
  • Yes, they will tell you to only be friends with other JWs.
  • Yes, they will prohibit JWs from celebrating holidays.
  • Yes, they will continue to demonize higher education.
  • Yes, they will continue having Elders destroy JWs personal lives.
  • And this list could go on forever.....

The Governing Body will keep or abandon any of the current beliefs to reach their three important goals that keep them ruling as kings of this cult.

Please realize this and don't be surprised by anything they do!

  • Sim, eles continuarão diabolizando o ensino superior.

  • Sì, continueranno a proteggere i pedofili.
  • Sì, continueranno a demonizzare l'istruzione superiore.
  • E questo elenco potrebbe continuare all'infinito.....

Why are never-JW spouses treated so differently from Inactive-JW spouses?

I am in a POMO/PIMI relationship.

My experiences are that Never-JW spouses can pursue and engage in many "worldly things" that are banned by The Governing Body while also being happily married to a PIMI.......and no one including the PIMI spouse really cares.

However, when an Inactive-JW is in a similar situation due to simply leaving, it is an opportunity for the PIMI spouse and other JWs to endlessly treat them like crap while the Inactive-JW spouse tries to do some of the same things.

Trying to understand this dynamic better and need your thoughts on it. I realize there are a lot of variations in this but am trying to summarize some basics below.

Things that are the same with Never-JW and Inactive-JW spouses:

  • No interest in being a JW or professing to be JW.
  • No interest in JW activities.
  • Little or no interest in being socially involved with JWs.
  • Pursues and maintains social connections with non-JWs.
  • Engages in social activities outside JW Land such as hobbies, sports, entertainment, etc.
  • Has embraced that the JW spouses spends massive amounts of time doing JW Hamster Wheel Activity and is okay with it.

Things that are different between Never-JW and Inactive-JW spouses:

  • The Never-JW has always been someone outside JW Land and has made a point of always staying outside.
  • Inactive-JW was once inside JW Land and now is outside.
  • Debatable: The Inactive-JW has a deeper understanding of JW life and the organization.

Does their being treated differently in the JW Community simply boil down to the reality that an Inactive-JW was once an adherent and also had a religious/social contract with their PIMI spouse that they have now broken?

Is it simply an opportunity to beat a former slave?

If The Governing Body needs more money then they should merge more congregations and sell more Kingdom Halls - August 2026 Announcements and Reminders

Thanks to u/ElderUndercover for providing the Monthly Announcements and Reminders that are for "Elders Eyes Only". If you have not read the August 2026 Letter to Elders then please take a look at it here: https://www.reddit.com/r/exjw/comments/1vf0lkw/august_2026_announcements_and_reminders/

The Governing Body is very direct in this letter stating that effectively "Jehovah's Witnesses need to step up and donate to the organization/Jehovah" and in essence "quit f***ing around related to the monthly donations The Governing Body is demanding".

This is the strongest language The Governing Body has used to date when it comes to demanding donations from the rank and file.

But, if they need more donations they should really do this:

  1. Merge more congregations together so that the Jehovah's Witnesses with money can cover the monthly donation that is being demanded.
  2. Sell more Kingdom Halls and send that money to the investment companies they have setup in Ireland.

Here is why they most likely don't want to do that:

  1. As it is, they don't have enough Kingdom Halls or congregations in many rural locations. To merge more congregations and sell more Kingdom Halls will force many people into becoming a Zoom-only Jehovah's Witness. The Governing Body really, really, really, really does not want to do this.
  2. See point #1. They are already in a situation where many areas do not have a Kingdom Hall nearby. Traveling long distances to a Kingdom Hall for an in-person meeting is not possible for many. See note below about Sedona, Arizona Kingdom Hall and Congregation.

This reminds me of the merge and sale of the Sedona, Arizona Kingdom Hall and Congregation some years ago. After the Sedona Congregation was dissolved and the Kingdom Hall sold, people had to decide on attending a Kingdom Hall in Cottonwood, Arizona 15 miles away or to travel to Flagstaff, Arizona 32 miles away. This assumes that the Publishers lived in Sedona and were a clean 15 or 32 miles to either Kingdom Hall. Of course many JWs lived a greater distance due to it being a rural area of Arizona, U.S.A. The point is there are many areas of the U.S. where there is no Kingdom Hall close by for people to attend in-person.

You Owe Elders Nothing: The Governing Body wants you to give trust, respect and complete obedience to Elders. Elders believe they can dictate how you make life decisions. They don't deserve this and you don't have to give them anything.

Elders, Ministerial Servants, The Governing Body and Bethel Branch Leadership all believe that you owe them something.

But you don't!

  • You don't owe them trust...real trust is earned.
  • You don't owe them respect...real respect is earned.
  • You don't have to be friends with them...real friends don't shun you based on religious rules.
  • You don't owe them obedience, no humans have the right to demand blind obedience from you.
  • You don't owe them the right to meddle in your personal life.
  • You don't owe them confessions about anything deeply personal.
  • You don't owe them any information about your personal life.
  • You don't have to do what they say.
  • You don't have to respond if they ask you to do something or want something.

You can "quiet quit" every interaction you have with any Jehovah's Witness.....but especially it is best to do this with every Elder you meet.

If you need help resisting the Elders then ask for it here!

---

Eternal Happiness Convention Promo Hosted by Shreveport, Louisiana U.S.A ABC KTBS-TV Station Featuring Victor Batiz & Nathan Chiasson Regional Spokesmen for Jehovah's Witnesses - Post Body has Photos + Transcript + Podcast in 6 Languages.

If you are from the region where this was held then please add any additional information in the comments!

Note: See image below and links for an Audio Podcast that is available in English, Deutsch (German), Francais (French), Espanol (Spanish), Italiano (Italian) and Mandarin? (Chinese).

It always shocks and baffles me when the United States News Media hosts the spokesmen for a harmful organization like Jehovah's Witnesses.

News Anchor Shannon Brinias hosts a news segment with these two Jehovah's Witness "spokesmen". It highlights the two conventions being held in Shreveport, Louisiana U.S.A at the Brookshire Grocery Arena, located in Bossier City, Louisiana on July 10-12 and July 17-19.

As a reminder and FYI for any non-JWs reading this: Women can't serve in a position like these two guys, only males are allowed to serve as a "spokesman" for Jehovah's Witnesses.

A few things that jumped out at me when I saw this segment:

  • It is the only promotional item I have seen in the U.S. for the 2026 Eternal Happiness Convention. If you know of another written or video promotional story, please share it.
  • 5,000 attendees per day for a total of 10,000 Jehovah's Witnesses attending across the two weekends. At least, that is what I glean from the transcript comments.
  • JW adherents are attending from Louisiana, Oklahoma, Texas and Arkansas. This seems like a huge area where people are coming in from.
  • No mention of how many conventions will be held in the U.S. during 2026.
  • If you have more information on these two conventions then please share it in the comments!

Victor Batiz - Regional Spokesman for Jehovah's Witnesses

Nathan Chiasson - Regional Spokesman for Jehovah's Witnesses

Audio Podcast Available in English, Deutsch, Francais, Espanol, Italiano and Mandarin (?)

.
YouTube transcript below:

Jehovah's Witnesses will be hosting a regional convention at the Brookshire Grocery Arena in Boer City starting today. Now, it runs through Sunday and then they have another weekend next weekend of convention. The Eternal Happiness Convention is what they're calling it and it's expected to bring thousands of people from around the area and the region. Joining us now to tell us more about it, we have Nathan Shon and Victor Batiz. and thank you so much for coming in.

Thank you for having us.

So the first question I'd like to ask is what is the purpose of the convention? What's it all about?

Well, really, who doesn't want to be happy?

Happiness is an essential need for all humans. So the convention, eternal happiness, really helps us to take our daily challenges and figure out how to navigate them so that we can remain happy despite challenges.

So this is a a convention of Jehovah's Witnesses. Is it only limited to Jehovah's Witnesses and or do you welcome other people and how do you help them unlock the key to happiness?

We do welcome other people. Our neighbors are welcomed. Uh we've been working inviting those in the community for 3 weeks now. And this topic is so

important because many people are facing hardships, challenges such as economic pressure, anxiety, and they're asking themselves, is it truly possible to be genuinely happy? This convention provides a practical answer to that based on the Bible. It's also positive.

In fact, many in the community in Shreveport and Broger City have seen how the teachings of Jesus have helped them out.

How would you explain it, Nathan, to people who maybe have never been exposed to Jehovah's Witnesses and they are curious about this convention? How would you explain what they're going to experience?

Well, for this convention, you can expect to be happy when you're there.

Um, in fact, you will probably be greeted by warm, smiling faces and a welcoming attitude. We love when people attend our conventions. In fact, it's free. The public's invited and we are inviting everyone to come and to listen to see how they can benefit from the practical value that's presented. What local impact is it going to have?

The local impact about 5,000 attendees um each day over the course of the weekend. They're coming from parts of Louisiana, Oklahoma, Texas, and Arkansas. And of course, we'll be eating at local restaurants and visiting uh staying at the hotels.

Okay. And so taking a break from maybe the proselytizing and knocking on the doors to have a little bit of togetherness at this convention.

Yes, we honestly we and in fact this convention about happiness is to transmit that joy. It and in fact it teaches us that regardless of the challenges that we may face, we can be happy. And so we warmly welcome those in the community to come. Over a thousand volunteers have worked hard to welcome those so that they're comfortable watching the program. And so we welcome those in the community to come and and attend this convention.

Well, we've got more information that we're going to link on KTBS Plus for uh if you were interested in attending this convention or maybe you already were planning on it and you just want to get the details. We'll get that up on our website. Nathan and Victor, thank you so much for joining us. Thank you so much.

Making Real Friends: The Governing Body want us to be isolated. They don't care about your support network. I refuse to be isolated and you don't have to be either. My making real friends journey is in this post.

TLDR: I am building a network of real friends and no one can stop me. Not The Governing Body, not PIMI JWs.....no one. Feel free to Ask Me Anything about my making real friends journey.

About four years ago as the pandemic was ending and The Governing Body was demanding a return to being in Kingdom Halls........I just couldn't do it. It led to me taking the final step of going POMO.

For quite some time after that I became very isolated. My wife is still PIMI and continued on The Jehovah's Witness Hamster Wheel of Activity™ full speed. I had few non-JW friends and it was difficult for me to figure out what to do to have non-JW friends.

The friends I have developed over the last 3+ years came through these actions:

  • Current and former coworkers: I cultivated friendships with people I met at work and that I really liked. I also reached out to some former coworkers and asked if they would like to connect for a lunch or drink. To my surprise, many that I knew in the past were very open to reconnecting.
  • Community Center: I joined a community center with my PIMI spouse. This center has around 40 different group activities that include sports, games and community service. While not every group we tried out was a hit, several of the things we tried as a couple worked out very well by meeting some great people and having fun while we did it.
  • Cultivating Random Connections: Throughout your day you often meet people in random ways such as at a work meeting/event, realtor, mortgage broker or another business connection. In the past, as a JW I would never think of connecting with someone interesting I met somewhere - because of the brainwashing by The Governing Body. What I started to do is to cultivate some of those random connections and a few turned out to be great connections and real friends.

What did the real friends that I made give me?

  • An unconditional relationship with no religious strings attached.
  • Opportunities to meet other people that might be a good friend.
  • Support related to simply discussing life in a general sense - nothing cult related.
  • Shared interests in things I enjoy and that they also liked to pursue.
  • The opportunity to consider some great people as friends that are a bit younger or older than me.
  • And many, many, many more great and positive things.

I am up to a total of five people that I have told my cult story to now. For many of these friends I have made, the topic of being a JW is something that I have never brought up. For others there became a time where I had reasons to share my JW background. Or in some cases I felt close enough to them to share that I was in a cult. It was hard at first to tell the story of being in a cult to a former coworker or a newer friend that I made. But it gets easier every time I tell the story.

When I did share my cult story, there were certain things I did not get from my real friends:

  • There was no judgement.
  • There was no ridicule.
  • No one belittled me as a person for being in a cult.
  • No one thought less of me as a person.
  • I got nothing negative when I have shared my cult story.

When did I get from my new friends when I would tell my cult story?

  • Appreciation in the sense that several expressed how it made them feel so good to know that you trusted them enough to share something difficult like this.
  • Understanding
  • Caring
  • Genuine concern as to how difficult it must have been to experience that....including many that expressed how difficult it would be to be in a PIMI/POMO marital relationship.
  • Love
  • Support
  • Genuine curiosity in wanting to know more about what cult survivors go through when they try to leave.
  • And many other positive things....

"The Friends" inside The Jehovah's Witness Organization are sadly not real friends. One day if they wake up and leave JW Land - then they might be able to be a true friend.

You can develop real friends once you wake up to "the truth about the truth" and begin looking outside of the Jehovah's Witness organization for relationships.

So, take the leap, be bold and put yourself out there to get to know some normal people. You will be pleasantly surprised by the people you meet and the new relationships you develop.

Constant Stress: The Governing Body wants you, me and every Active Jehovah's Witness under constant stress. Why? Because they want to control your mind and life. Example: Feeling forced to support other JWs desire to worship The Governing Body.

Regardless of our current journey out of the Jehovah's Witnesses Organization, a great many of us experience near constant stress due to this harmful organization.

The Governing Body wants you to be constantly stressed out because that is part of their methodology of controlling your mind and life.

Things that can cause constant stress for PIMI, PIMQ, PIMO and even POMO people include:

  • Forced support of JWs around you as they run on the never-ending Jehovah's Witness Hamster Wheel of Activity™ as they worship The Governing Body.
  • Note: If you think that The Governing Body is not being worshiped by the 8+ million JW adherents, then you need to read through u/larchington's excellent post covering the latest broadcast. The broadcast highlights that JWs need to "trust The Governing Body...even if Jehovah isn't behind the direction". https://www.reddit.com/r/exjw/s/D2wuS58uX9
  • PIMI marriages as a PIMQ, PIMO or POMO.
  • Performance anxiety around the never-ending need to do more for The Governing Body Incorporated and their multitude of real estate and investment corporations.
  • Denying yourself by suppressing your personal thoughts, desires and needs so that you can serve The Governing Body.
  • Social isolation due to rejecting non-JW relationships and then realizing that existing JW relationships are meaningless due to the devotion given to The Governing Body.
  • Financial pressure due to following the bad financial advice given by The Governing Body or due to the fact that your JW family follows the bad financial advice of The GB.
  • Fear of retaliation when you expect negative consequences from other JWs if you speak up, disagree, set boundaries, or stop participating.

Fear of retaliation can include additional stressors such as:

  1. Social retaliation such as public criticism, being shunned or simply being treated differently by friends or family.
  2. Authority retaliation where Elders or Circuit Overseers apply pressure to accept “counseling”, engage in discussion that is unwanted and/or remove you from roles due to your actions.
  3. Punitive correction where JWs can experience escalating consequences for minor things as a form of punishment.
  4. Loss of privileges that can include things like lost work opportunities, responsibilities, or informal support available through JW friends and family. Many JWs secular work is through JW relationships or companies owned by other JWs.
  5. Emotional retaliation where other JWs exert control over you through guilt, blame, or the idea that “you’re causing problems” because you don't follow The Governing Body.

You don't have to live this way. You can leave Jehovah's Witnesses. Ask for help here on how to do it!

Elders are Nobodies with a Title: The Governing Body has convinced JW males to accept a title so they can then manipulate, exploit and exert extreme control over other Jehovah's Witnesses. I was one of these males. You should never trust an Elder.

I was a Ministerial Servant and Elder for many years including the time I spent at Bethel.

It is important for anyone visiting her to recognize Elders and Ministerial Servants for what they really are.

The Governing Body wants you to believe that these males:

  • Have important roles in leading Jehovah God's one true religion.
  • Have meaningful qualifications to be positions of authority within congregations.
  • Have been vetted by the local Body of Elders and the Circuit Overseers that they are qualified to handle the tasks dictated by The Governing Body.
  • Are in their role to help you in some way as a Jehovah's Witness.
  • Are mature spiritual men.
  • Are trustworthy and should without question be trusted.
  • Should be consulted by other JWs on important life decisions without question.
  • Are to be considered examples for other JWs to follow.

What The Governing Body says is false, in reality these males:

  • Have a fake role and title made up by men known as The Governing Body.
  • Have little education, career experience or any qualification to be in any position of authority.
  • Have been voted into their role by the Congregation Elders who are often poor, uneducated and have no qualifications (the blind leading the blind).
  • Are in their role to manipulate, exploit, enforce rules and exert extreme control over Jehovah's Witness Adherents (remember, you are not a member anymore - just an adherent to a belief system).
  • Are not personally mature, not spiritually mature and many times are not men but mere boys.
  • Should not be considered trustworthy.
  • Should not be consulted on any important decisions, questions or other important matters.
  • Are not examples to follow and actually represent good examples of what you should not do - unless you want to be poor, uneducated and live in poverty.

The best thing any Jehovah's Witness can do is to keep Elders and Ministerial Servants at a distance.

You should never trust an Elder with anything important in your life.

No one is coming to save me - Bethel taught me this. The Governing Body is focused on money, real estate projects and getting JWs to work for free. When you realize this you need to make changes in your life.

TLDR: No one is coming to save me or you. No one is going to bail us out once we follow The Governing Body for years or decades. Every PIMI, PIMQ, PIMO AND POMO person needs to take control of your life and make your own plans.

The Governing Body has been telling Jehovah's Witnesses for decades that all their problems will be solved at some point in the future through something miraculous.

Saying things like:

  • The end is near...
  • We are in the last of the last days...
  • Armageddon is so close now...
  • Wait until the "new system" to have kids...
  • I'm the new system you can have that nice house and large property...
  • The paradise is so close...
  • The Great Tribulation could start any time...
  • You can look forward to seeing your dead non-JW family that you shunned in the new system after the resurrection...

For me, this belief was like the perfect "get out of jail free card" or also like getting a financial bailout from a rich uncle. No matter what happened, as long as I worshiped The Governing Body and the Watchtower Corporations every thing would be fine at some point when Armageddon, the Great Tribulation or some other event led by Jesus/Jehovah happened.

To my shock, at Bethel I learned the harsh reality that:

No one is coming to save me, rescue me or give me some bailout in life.

While this was a shock and led to me being PIMO for many years after, it was at the same time a very good wake up call for me to change things in my life and for my PIMI spouse.

Things like:

  1. We left Bethel on our own terms and at a time that was best for us as a couple.
  2. I resigned all privileges I could as soon as I possibly could - it took several years.
  3. I was able to convince my PIMI spouse to abandon pioneering and get a job.
  4. We prioritized obtaining employment that allowed us to pay our bills and plan for the future.
  5. We prioritized having quality healthcare coverage.
  6. We prioritized a balanced lifestyle where we enjoyed life as much as possible now while also being conservative so that we could plan for old age.
  7. We began doing more enjoyable things such as vacations, hobbies and other personal activities.
  8. We planned for retirement and got advice from financial planners to help us do this.
  9. We tried to help our families make some of these same decisions where possible.
  10. I prioritized relationships that would be helpful to me in the future and abandoned JW relationships that were toxic.

There are many other things that I did once I realized that no one was coming to save me. If I left something out then please ask me about it.

If you can do one thing, please realize that no one is coming to save you and no one is going to bail you out from the results of following the extremely poor advice given by The Governing Body.

You have to take control of your life and make your own plans.

How many Eternal Happiness Regional Conventions are being held in the U.S. in 2026?

If you know the answer please comment or send me a direct message please.

When Robert Hendricks III was running the Jehovah's Witnesses Public Information Department (PID) there were endless news media articles promoting conventions and how many were being held in Jehovah's Witnesses biggest market - The United States of America.

However, in the last couple of years all of the news article in the public press have stopped in the United States. I have looked and have not found one article that shares how many conventions are planned for 2026.

Also, the PID "department" had massive layoffs and my understanding is many of the JWs are no longer in those roles.

For some reason they are no longer promoting conventions in the public news media.

Please message me here or in chat if you can help with this detail.

Thank you!

Unconditional Hate: The Governing Body directs Jehovah's Witnesses to treat every non-JW as "dangerous" persons that do not deserve our close association. Why? Because The Governing Body said so.

I comment often that Jehovah's Witnesses only care about other humans that profess to be a JW. It no longer matters what type of person you are.......just that you profess to be a JW.

A recent experience with a PIMI JW highlighted how JWs have a pathological need to treat non-JWs with some form of hate. To me it feels like JWs have unconditional hate for anyone that does not profess to be a JW.

Here is the experience I had:

A PIMI I know has a non-JW acquaintance that has a solid life overall that includes good family, job, home, etc. Just a generally nice person overall. The non-JW messaged to say that they were home alone for an extended period due to family circumstances and did the PIMI JW want to have dinner. Because it was a meeting night, the PIMI JW tersely said: I already have plans tonight, maybe another time." And to date the PIMI has never messaged this person again......if they had, I would have known about it.

It was another ugly demonstration of how PIMI JWs treat every non-JW they come into contact with as some sort of meat-sack that does not deserve even common kindness.

For decades, The Governing Body has conditioned JWs that they should view all non-JWs as some sort of non-human monster that should be treated appropriately.

It's disgusting to see, but the real losers are the Jehovah's Witnesses that treat great people like crap. And the only reason they do this is because The Governing Body said so.

Why do they act this way? The Governing Body has taught them they have to act this way. Here are just three recent references that highlight examples of how they teach this.

NOTE: These articles very specifically link serving God and being acceptable to God with believing what The Governing Body teaches.

Exhausted: The Governing Body wants to keep Jehovah's Witnesses on an endless treadmill leading to exhaustion. Why? They want to control your priorities and an exhausted person is easier to control and manipulate.

The Governing Body wants you to be permanently exhausted as a Jehovah's Witness.

Why? The Governing Body wants to control your priorities. They only want you serving them and prioritizing Jehovah's Witness activities. So, when you're exhausted you don't have time to prioritize the things that are most important for a normal person, such as:

  • Thinking critically about important decisions in your life.
  • Making plans for you future that involve finances, family and retirement.
  • Having the motivation necessary to succeed with your career.
  • Caring for others that are important to you.
  • Spending time on a healthy social life.

By keeping JWs exhausted, The Governing Body makes it easier to have JWs prioritize Governing Body tasks and endlessly defer the more important personal needs that every Jehovah's Witness should be focused on.

JWs in Brazil: The Governing Body wants your money, time and personal resources for real estate projects. YOU don't have to give it! You can say no to The Governing Body's endless requests for money!

The Governing Body has messaged Elders in Brazil that money is needed for a branch renovation project. See post here from u/larchington on this: https://www.reddit.com/r/exjw/comments/1tyi2k9/brazil_a_june_2026_letter_to_elders_to_present/ (thank you u/larchington).

Jehovah's Witnesses in Brazil can say no to this large construction project.

Beyond saying no to the endless requests for money....you can say no in other ways:

  • Say No by not giving your time and other resources to this harmful organization.
  • Say No by not accepting "privileges" that Elders want to give out.
  • Say No by resigning from "privileges".

If you need help with saying no to construction projects then please post here and this group will help you!

Passei toda a minha vida servindo a Jeová.

JW Prison: The Governing Body has created a prison that all active JWs exist in. No thinking, No speaking, No planning, No time, No friends, No education, No career, No personal life, No sex, No social media and more.

Every active Jehovah's Witness exists in the prison that The Governing Body has created. What I am sharing here is just a few examples. Please share your thoughts.

Social Prison: The GB says that "Our close associated should be those who do God's will." What they really mean is you should only spend social time with other Jehovah's Witnesses. Sadly, most JWs are only your friends if you are running on the JW Hamster Wheel of Activity™.

Watchtower Study Edition 2015 August 15th - Watch Your Associations in These Last Days

.

Thought Prison: The Governing Body dictates what JWs are to think. They constantly outline what an active JW should think through the Watchtower magazine. Examples here: https://www.reddit.com/r/exjw/comments/1tofnyn/thinking_not_allowed_the_governing_body_dictates/

.

Speech Prison: If you have doubts or feel that something about JW life is negative, you should not "repeat them". Any doubts about Jehovah and his organization should be rejected! In other words, even if you think it.......don't say anything negative about The Governing Body or their organization.

Our Christian Life and Ministry-Meeting Workbook-2023 May Page 16

.

Sex Prison: The Governing Body has an obsession with making rules about sex. The Governing Body is constantly talking about what is or is not appropriate sexually as if they are the ones to provide the last word and rule on sexuality. You just have to search Jehovah's Witnesses publications to learn they live inside of a sexual prison created by The Governing Body. https://www.reddit.com/r/exjw/comments/1rtqapm/porn_sex_masturbation_sexting_oral_sex_anal_sex/

Watchtower November 2018 Pages 23-27 Footnotes - Are You Making Jehovah's Thoughts Your Own?

Time Prison: The Governing Body wants all of JWs time. JWs are constantly encouraged to "do more" for The Governing Body and their corporate religious organization Watchtower.

March 2026 Watchtower Pages 14-19 Footnote - How Will You Fight Your Distractions?

.

Planning Prison: The Governing Body does not want JWs making life plans. Planning for retirement, vacations, careers and success. As shown above, they want JWs working for the Watchtower real estate corporation. JWs can't make plans.

.

Education Prison: The Governing Body has prevented generations of JWs from getting a university education (myself included). The harsh messaging about university education was effectively a ban in many families. While they have recently relaxed their harsh messaging about university, The Governing Body continues to show any "additional education" beyond primary education as risky and of questionable benefit to JWs.

.

Career Prison: The Governing Body does not want JWs to have career success. The Governing Body wants JWs stuck in dead-end jobs that do not allow financial advancement. Many JWs have spent their whole life in a career prison (see point above - Education Prison).

.

Personal Life Prison: The Governing Body does not want JWs enjoying life and engaging in personal interests such as books, sports, movies, gaming, travel, food, cooking, drawing, painting, swimming, surfing, racing, philosophy, meaningful friendships, university degrees, financial stability, a nice home and the list goes on.

.

Social Media Prison: The Governing Body has decided to create TikTok (@jw_pressroom) and Instagram (@jw_pressroom) accounts "specifically designed for a secular audience - government officials, journalists, and researchers." For two-decades, The Governing Body has been telling Jehovah's Witnesses that they should not use social media for a variety of reasons. A great example of this is the convention video where The Governing Body tells JWs they should not use social media for support with serious health problems - in this case a woman with cancer is being told not to use it. You can't make this up! https://www.reddit.com/r/exjw/comments/1kw07pt/cancer_convention_video_worse_than_apostate_video/

Thinking Not Allowed: The Governing Body dictates what Jehovah's Witnesses are allowed to think. GB thinking tells JWs they need to work for the Watchtower Corporation. - March 2026 Watchtower Study Edition - How will you fight your distractions?

TLDR: Serving God = do what the Governing Body says. Having God's thinking = you need to do work for the Watchtower real estate corporations. "Spiritual Activities" are all the things the GB is constantly telling you to do (see screenshot of footnote from article - pasted below).

The study article from last week was a convoluted mess that tried to tell JWs that following God's thinking means you need to do whatever the GB is telling you, including to work for their many billion dollar corporations.

Six Quotes from the Watchtower Study about "God's Thinking"

Paragraph 8 - "How did Jesus fight potential distractions? In three ways. First, he adopted Jehovah’s thinking. (John 8:28; 14:9)"

Paragraph 9 - "Learn to think like Jehovah. Doing so can help you to “keep perceiving what the will of Jehovah is.” (Read Ephesians 5:17.) We can do this even when the Bible does not discuss our specific circumstances. How? By becoming familiar with Jehovah’s way of thinking and by being willing to be guided by it."

Paragraph 10 - "We can learn about Jehovah’s way of thinking by studying the Bible and considering his dealings with humans. (Jer. 45:5) And we pray confidently for help to understand his way of thinking and to adopt it as our own.—1 John 5:14"

Paragraph 11 - "As we learn to think like Jehovah, we understand that he wants us to avoid being distracted so that we can prove ourselves ready for the end of this system. (Matt. 24:44)"

Paragraph 15 - "...we develop good judgment in order to keep a balanced view of recreation and make wise decisions. Such decisions will reflect Jehovah’s thinking and will show that we have grasped what is truly important.—2 Tim. 1:7"

Paragraph 20 - "...we will avoid centering our lives solely on recreation. So let us continue to be resolved to think like Jehovah, to stay busy in spiritual activities, and to keep a clear view of what is truly important."

FOOTNOTE: The footnote is the big punchline in this whole article. That serving God equals doing all the things needed to make The Governing Body and Watchtower's Corporations successful.

Here is the footnote:
