A question about the XR-3-ION

It's my first time using this weapon, and I've seen that it's been heavily nerfed, but I still want to use it. I just have two questions: 1—Should I equip the attachment that turns it into a minigun? 2—Is Sharpshooter or Explosive Bullets better?
