Nursing Building

Hey, everyone! I have US History I this upcoming semester. My schedule says it's in the nursing building. That's the THSON building just past UWG Outfitters, correct? Thanks in advance!

Well, I'm 100% Single

For the first time in a very long time, I am not dating anyone. My partner of nearly a year and I broke up recently. I was ghosted by a woman I had very casually been seeing. No comets or prospects. I deleted the dating app profiles. And you know what? I'm okay. Getting used to a daily routine that no longer involves my anchor partner will take some time, but I can already feel myself healing. I've learned so much about myself. I enjoy my company. I have tremendous friends. I'm going to enjoy this season of dating myself, for however long it lasts.

Is This a Dealbreaker?

If your partner tells you there is something very specific they're going to do with you (as in a date) and, after the fact, you find out they did this thing with someone else because they decided last minute to not invite you would that be something you would consider ending the relationship over?

Edited to clarify: with me it was to be a date. the person they chose to invite instead was not a romantic partner, but I'm not 100% sure whether or not it's a romantic prospect.

45F, 4.0GPA, 1st Gen Undergrad

Hey, everybody! I'm transferring 30 credit hours from a CC within the TCSG to a USG school. I had HOPE my first semester. Second semester, I had the Zell Miller Scholarship. When I met with financial aid at the new school, they said the CC should not have applied HOPE funds to my account, because I'm more than 10 years out from graduating highschool (class of 1999).

Now I'm wondering if I'm going to have to take out student loans to finish my undergrad. Are there any fairly surefire academic merit scholarships offered to women over a certain age and/or first generation college? I do not qualify for why financial hardship aid.

When They Say it's Fine, but it Doesn't Feel Fine

About three weeks ago, I felt a shift in the energy in my relationship. For a little (possibly irrelevant) context, they have a few very comet partners. Due to my extremely busy schedule, I'm currently saturated at one serious partnership, but do date casually on occasion.

A few things have transpired over the past few weeks that have caused some stress for my partner. I've tried to be as present as I can with what precious little free time I have.

I first noticed the shift on a date, and it's just kind of remained that way since. I have checked in a few times to see if there's anything I or we need to work on. They assured, and reassured, me that we're solid, so I'm taking them on their word.

The problem is that they just seem kind of annoyed with me. I've gotten a few snarky replies and a short tone. Things I was excited to share with them, they seemed disinterested in. We've been together just a little under a year, so I'm not sure if they are just having a personal rough patch, or if this is fading NRE. If it's the former, we can get through it. If it's the latter, and this will be the state of the relationship moving forward? I'm not okay with that.

I'm reaching a point where I don't want to fall into my chronic people pleasing, anxious attachment style overcompensation only to be met with low to no effort in return. I can't pour from an empty cup. My fear is that this is like every other relationship I've had with a cishet man-front loading the effort to lock me in, then reveal the true colors several months into it.

I feel like there needs to be a much more in-depth conversation, but I don't want it to come across as kicking them when they are down. I guess I'm just feeling a bit sad at how things went from being really great to wondering if did something wrong or is the interest in me waning. Any advice or words of comfort would be greatly appreciated.

A Happy Post

Just a happy update. I posted a little while back about being reticent about telling my partner I love them, because I didn't want to set up expectations of following the traditional relationship escalator. Well, I finally got brave and told them, and guess what-they told me they love me as well. The world didn't implode. Things didn't get weird. It's fantastic!

Mother Wants to Keep Tabs on Me

Hello, everyone. My mother (late-60s) has a few diagnosed mental health conditions, but was never diagnosed with NPD. Although, I highly suspect it. She says hurtful things, but if you clap back, she's the victim. She was manipulative and controlling under the guise of "being a caring parent". We weren't allowed to have friends, but then she would accuse me of being too difficult and weird and that's why other kids bullied me.

I am in my 40s and have started a new job with a long commute. She asked me if she could track my location on a GPS tracking app, "for safety reasons". I told her absolutely not, and she said she has a good reason for asking me to do it, but I have no good reason to not do it. Then accused me of, "doing things I'm trying to hide, otherwise, I wouldn't care if she tracked me".

At the present time, going no-contact is not an option, so how can I head off these super accusatory, awkward conversations that leave her acting like a victim?

Hey, everyone! I'm getting ready to transfer to a state university in the fall to pursue my BSN. I've already taken AP I and II and Microbio, with labs and my GPA is 4.0.

The nursing program I'm hoping to get into obviously requires A&P and Micro, but their additional required science track allows you to choose between Survey of Chemistry I and II, Physics I and II, or Biology I and II. I'm not touching Physics with a ten-foot pole, but I'm thinking about going the Biology route to play it safe; however, I've heard people say it's better to take Chem, because it makes Pharmacology much easier. Thoughts?
