What games are worth playing on the switch? (Open world)

Hello everyone,

I currently have no game I'm actively playing and I would love to dive into it again. My favorite game of all time was The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt. I also enjoyed Skyrim, but not as much.

I played Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom and found the first one to be better. I also sunk a lot of hours into animal crossing.

What I really enjoy is a phenomenal open world. Either a sandbox with a lot of player freedom or a RPG. I don't like dungeons very much, I don't like puzzles and I don't like an empty world.

Does anyone have a few recommendations?

What to do with my pothos?

I have those two pothos and I don't really know what to do with them. The big one looks great, but it's starting to bend over and I don't know whether I should put in a larger pole or let it hang over like that?

The other one looks incredibly naked and a bit lost. Would it look better if it was hanging from a shelf or something?

How do you grow your pothos?

Adopting a dog

I apologize in advance, this will be long!

I've been thinking about adopting a dog for a while now. I grew up with dogs (a pointer & a lab) and I truly miss having a furry family member. But it always feels like the moment is not right or we're not fully there yet.

I would love some input on my concerns/thoughts!

General info: We would adopt a dog as a family, my partner & I. We have a three year old child. We've been together for 8 years and lived together for 4 years and were definitely in it for the long run. We rent 80qm on the outskirts of a big city. We have fields and lots of walking paths around in our neighborhood and a nice forest (walkable) half a kilometer away from our house.

Our apartment is on the 2nd floor and doesn't come with a garden or anything.

My partner and I are both still studying at university, I'll be done in a few months. The plan would be to wait until I have a job, so that we can test the schedules. I would work part time anyway because of our child. I will definitely get a job immediately, I'm going into social work. He will be studying for a while because not only does he want a master's degree, but he also wants to obtain a doctorate. Our time schedule would allow me to take care of a dog fully myself, so we don't rely on my partner's future schedule.

We are financially stable and have good reserves. My job would only increase our income, no matter what I end up taking. We discussed everything involving break up, allergies,...

My concerns:

-Would we even get a dog while one of us is still in university?

-Would we even get a dog with a child at that age?

-Would we even get a dog without a garden or anything?

We have a good social network here in terms of people who could take care of a dog in an emergency & our landlord allows dogs.

We could definitely provide 3 walks a day of 2-3 hours long-term, we spend a lot of time outside in general.

Our daughter is used to dogs and is very cautious around animals, although we would always supervise the dog & the child. Both would have their own space that's inaccessible for the other.

Our dream dog would be small to medium sized, between 1,5 and 6 years old & relaxed around children.

That was a lot of info dump, but I just hope for a different perspective. It feels like we don't meet all the criteria for an adoption and I don't want to get my hopes up when it's unrealistic in the first place.

Thanks in advance ❤️

Dieffenbachia -yellow leaves

Hello everyone,

I have two Dieffenbachias from the plant store, I've had both of them for approximately 2 weeks. The problem is, since they've arrived they continuously develop yellow leaves on the bottom. I've cut off the last yellow leaves because they were in terrible condition and both plants had enough green ones.

I honestly don't know what I'm doing wrong here.

They are both in ceramic pods with inner pots & good drainage.

The lighting should be okay. I think I've watered them twice in the past two weeks, the soil does not feel damp.

What's the problem here?

Thripse?

Show me your balcony setups

I need inspiration for a green balcony. We have a small one, facing south, with one multi-tiered raised plant bed and a few pots, but my dream is a balcony jungle with lots of plants that are hardy & perennial. Bonus points if it's insect-friendly. Maybe even some plants that crawl the walls.

I would love to get some inspiration and see your setups 🪻🪴🌿

Was mache ich falsch?

What is this on my monstera?

I have had this monstera for a while now. She developed weird burnt-like spots a while ago, but it always looked like sun damage for me. Now she developed similar, smaller spots on other leaves too. I want to make sure it's not pests. She generally looks healthy, but has slow growth.

Any advice is appreciated.

And yes, I know she's a bit dusty :)

Thanks in advance!

Finally happy with my insland!

Here are a few impressions of my overall theme & some of my favorite areas ❤️ I am quite happy with the result, even though it is not perfect (the flowers are still a bit wild and random). I am far from being finished, but I feel a sense of accomplishment and it's an amazing feeling.

If there's any feedback or critique, I'd love to hear it! Always trying to improve things 😊

I hope you all have a wonderful evening

Fragen zum Umtopfen/Endgröße

Hallo zusammen,

What does my hair need?

I'm a bit confused with my hair. Sorry, if it's the wrong sub!

My hair is incredibly thick and heavy when it's dry and always has a lot of volume (not in a good way). If it's freshly washed it always dries fizzy. But it's definitely straight when dry.

Whenever my hair is wet, it gets wavy and actually has a nice structure.

I wash my hair twice a week, use normal silikon-free shampoo on the scalp & conditioner on my lengths & ends. I always let it air dry. I tried brushing it when it's wet, but that creates hair breakage. But when I brush it dry, it looks the same. Fizzy and thick.

The photos are of my still wet hair.

Any tips appreciated!

Time travelling and turnip prices

I was wondering: If I travel back in time, there will be a whole different turnip price pattern for that week. And usually bad prices. So if I would time travel to kick a villager out and then go back to the current time, what will my turnip price pattern look like? I'm not trying to sell this week, but I'd like to invest next week and would like to foresee that pattern. But if I mess with it now, how does the game decide the chances for next week?

I have no idea if I'm being clear, sorry for that! 😵‍💫

This is just a crying post...

Last week I invested a lot of money into turnips, got super unlucky and lost 175,000 bells. The upside to it: After that decreasing pattern I could expect a good one, so I invested again, most of my money, 500,000 bells.

Today I time traveled 1 day forward because I won't be able to play tomorrow. But stupid as I am I synced the clock afterwards and opened the game again a few minutes ago. Everything is spoiled. I cannot believe this happened 😭 Did this happen to anyone and how did you survive it? 🥲
