RANT

I’m so sick of my beard hair. I hate feeling prickly and gross in the middle of the day. I would do anything to not grow hair there anymore. I have tried laser and electrolysis and they both didn’t do anything. I got my hormones tested and they turned out to be normal as well.

I just want to have a magic pill and be done with this 😭😭😭😭 it makes me feel so unattractive

Do I have to live like this forever what do I do 😭

Moving to Langley!!

Hi guys!

I’m moving here in a couple weeks which is super exciting! Tell me all the great (or bad) things about Langley! Here are some examples of the things I would love to know:

A) underrated coffee/cafe place? I love supporting local

B) thrifting scene

C) public transportation? I have been researching this and it seems just OK. I wanna explore the entirety of the lower mainland on a budget but it seems to take hours to get to some of the places. It’s all good though I will make the best of it!

D) walking trails to explore nature

E) are the people friendly here? I sure hope so 🥲

F) anything food related what is your go to fav local spot

Thanks guys I appreciate it ❤️

I hate my appearance :(

Just a vent…..

I’ve wasted my 24 years of life away caring about my appearance and it’s beyond emotionally exhausting. I’ve never ever felt pretty before. I tried altering/improving my appearance with a different hairstyle, makeup, etc, but I still remain the ugly one. I lose sleep at night because of this it sucks

I know male gaze doesn’t matter and I’m not the type to care about all that but I’ve never been approached by a dude romantically which again I understand why but it just makes me feel worse about my appearance.

I’ve tried improving my self esteem as well but every time I look at a candid picture of myself with my friends it ruins my whole week. Everyone looks so great and I’m there ruining the picture as always.

Unfortunately I’m not ultra rich so plastic surgery is out of the question

Sigh….im just dreading feeling this way and looking this way for the rest of my life. I feel like I should be enjoying my 20s but my hatred towards my appearance is really stopping that.

Vent over
Hopefully I get some sleep tomorrow night

Learning Punjabi

Hey all!

I hope this is the right subreddit for this post but I’m on my journey to fully understand Sikhi. I have been reading the Guru Granth Sahib Ji in the English language but the end goal for me is to learn the Gurmukhi version and fully comprehend it.

I can fully understand Punjabi but speaking wise it’s pretty terrible. I’m able to hold conversations with the elderly at the Gurdwara but I’m not as confident in it compared to English. I tend to avoid conversations with everyone but the elderly as I’ve been told they can tell I’m “born here” from my Punjabi 😅 So I get embarrassed….

Secondly, my reading skills are also pretty much at kindergarten level.

What resources/advice would you recommend for someone to essentially self educate themselves on the Punjabi language so I can reach my end goal of reading Gurbani in Gurmukhi and I am able to hold intelligent conversations with people about it!

Thank you and I hope my post somewhat makes sense :)

Rejected from nursing

Was put on failed standing due to mental health issues that lead me to the hospital. Then I got 85% average at the college. I did a wide variety of courses such as chemistry, stats, Anatomy, etc

They didn’t start reviewing my application until late May and on ASC it says I got rejected as I did not meet the minimum grade requirements.

Feeling really discouraged as the academic advisor said my grades looked great and she hopes to see me back at UBCO
