Coping with Borderline Personality Disorder

Hi there,I’m F,24 and living in Ireland.I was diagnosed with BPD in July 2022.Ive experienced a lot of trauma in my life such as sexual abuse,my sister dying due to suicide, abusive relationships and other things.Over the past 4 years I’ve been in and out of therapy but I’ve heard DBT is the best for helping BPD (correct me if I’m wrong) that’s what my psychiatrist told me I need.I am starting therapy next week once I’m paid I’m using BetterHelp the app.Its the most affordable therapy I can find that provides DBT.My post is basically does life get better with BPD especially if i genuinely put in the effort in all aspects of my life? My sister as I said took her own life but she also had BPD too,she wasn’t taking her medication, wasn’t attending therapy and unfortunately was in an abusive relationship and also let down my her psychiatrist when she needed help.Just knowing she had BPD and that is how her life ended scares me because I do genuinely want to live and get better I just find it very hard to cope but I am taking my medication, going to therapy and working on my self.So if anyone has any advice that would help I’d really appreciate it:)))

Being ghosted by my talking stage

Hi there,me F 24 and my talking stage M 21 have been talking for 7 ish weeks now so far.Last Sunday for the World Cup we decided to have some drinks at my house. My family are on holidays so we had the house to ourselves also his friend was there so.I just want to add in I have borderline personality disorder and don’t handle alcohol great especially mixing different types.I don’t remember much but what u do remember is me and my talking stage were arguing over something and then he said he was leaving so I said I want to kill my self (I’m aware I shouldn’t of said that and have apologised).Anyways he ended up staying and the next morning I woke up sober and tried to engage about the night before I apologised multiple times and tried to talk it out…he didn’t want to.His friend needed to go home and he was his lift so before he left he said text me later or I’ll text you and we can talk about the argument and the night before.Just after that his aunt rang turns out his cousin had just passed, his cousin lived with him they were close as far as I know and he also lives with his aunt,he doesn’t speak to his parents so his aunt is his mother figure. The funeral was yesterday,I’ve tried reaching out multiple times before then to apologise,to be there for him,to come to the funeral and he basically didn’t bother answering really.I haven’t heard from him since Wednesday so three days ago,he’s been on his phone so it’s clear hes just ignoring me.I don’t know what to do honestly all of this is really affecting me I have strong feelings for him and since before the argument and his cousin passing everything was good and going great. Can I please get some advice? Thank you!

Potentially having PCOS

Hi there,
My name is Ava I’m female 24.I started having symptoms of PCOS at around 17/18 but only facial hair growth at that time.Ive been skinny all my life but in 2023/2024 I started gaining weight rapidly I never started eating more I went from a size 8 to a size 14 in a couple of months. Then last October my hair all of a sudden started to fall out I lost half my head of hair I’ve always had thick hair and when I went to the doctor he didn’t help he basically said you have a history of mental health issues so he put it down to that and maybe stress. When I went to my gynaecologist before when I was maybe 17/18 they did ultrasounds and bloods they said I have cysts on my ovaries, she said it’s more thank likely pcos but I was too young at the time to get a diagnosis she said u need to wait until I’m in my early to mid twenties.Im currently on a waiting list to see a gynaecologist now but does anyone have any advice on things I can do in the meantime or supplements I can’t take to help? Thank you very much!

Phone watch

Hi there,I had an interview with phone watch yesterday for a sales representative position. It didn’t say anything in the description of the job about door to door sales but when I went for the interview the manager said ‘it’s door to door sales’.I left the interview and decided then it was no interest to me but today I received a phone call saying I was successful and being offered the position.I just would like some advice,I want to get into sales as I think it’s a great industry to get into and this would be my first job in sales.Has anybody worked in phone watch before specifically door to door sales and do you think it’s worth taking even for experience? It is commission based though! Thank you.
