4 internet points to the first one who names all four beaters!
Are there substances suitable for use as lenses which let a greater proportion of light through when the light is less bright?
I am looking for something which is suitable as eye protection in a low-light environment with occasional and unpredictably timed bright flashes, that still allows a reasonable amount of visual fidelity most of the time.
The Scenario
Suppose I control Panharmonicon and cast Stalking Leonin.
Stalking Leonin's first ability is a triggered ability that instructs you to "secretly choose an opponent." Suppose I am in a multiplayer game and choose two different opponents.
The Relevant Rules
Stalking Leonin's second ability is a linked ability linked to the first that requires you to "Reveal the player you chose" (emphasis mine) as an activation cost.
"607.2d If an object has an ability printed on it that causes a player to “choose a [value]” and an ability printed on it that refers to “the chosen [value],” “the last chosen [value],” or similar, those abilities are linked. The second ability refers only to a choice made as a result of the first ability." (again, emphasis mine).
"607.3. If, within a pair of linked abilities, one ability refers to a single object as “the exiled card,” “a card exiled with [this object],” or a similar phrase, and the other ability has exiled multiple cards (usually because it was copied), the ability refers to each of the exiled cards. If that ability asks for any information about the exiled card, such as a characteristic or mana value, it gets multiple answers. If these answers are used to determine the value of a variable, the sum of the answers is used. If that ability performs any actions on “the” card, it performs that action on each exiled card. If that ability creates a token that is a copy of “the” card, then for each exiled card, it creates a token that is a copy of that card. If that ability performs any actions on “a” card, the controller of the ability chooses which card is affected."
How I think it Works
Although not explicitly spelled out in the rules, by analogy with rule 607.3 I believe that the activated ability of Stalking Leonin can only be activated once - that the copied trigger does not generate a "second copy" of the linked activated ability because they are in separate paragraphs.
I also believe that, in order to pay the activation cost, I must reveal only one of the secretly chosen names.
However, if I am wrong and I am required to reveal all of the names, how will that interact with the conditional clause of the activated ability? If it is controlled by one of the two chosen players, is the condition met (because it is controlled by that player) or unmet (because it is not controlled by the other player).
Hello. If I control and opponent (via Mindlaver) and cause them to activate [[Chaos Confetti]], who physically shreds and throws the card?
I understand that this is not legal in any sanctioned format, but please indulge me.
On your turn:
Cast your mana rocks
Cast Isochron Scepter and Imprint Dramatic Reversal
Activate Isochron Scepter. Use your rocks to float {C} each time until you have 23 mana in your mana pool. Make sure to end with your rocks untapped.
Cast Sculpting Steel as a copy of Isochron Scepter and Imprint Relic's Roar.
Cast the rest of your artifacts. Activate Mindslaver targetting the opponent you hate the most.
On your opponent's turn:
Repeat step 3
Activate the Sculpting Steel repeatedly to turn your Chaos Confetti and all of your opponent's permanents into creatures.
Cast Mirrorweave targetting Chaos Confetti. All of your opponent's permanents should now copies of Chaos Confetti.
Use victory chimes to give your opponent 4 mana.
Attach the cards among your board to your clothing (see [Cardboard Carapace]]).
Force your opponent to activate one of their Chaos Confetti copies. If they successuflly hit Isochron Scepter, Sol Ring, or Victory Chimes, you can no longer give them mana and they will not have to shred any more cards. Otherwise, repeat steps 9+
