Need Help with a Fighter/Barbarian multiclass

I'm joining a campaign which the DM has said will be quite challenging, so I think it's a good idea to try and optimise the character as much as I can. The campaign starts at level 1 and is aiming to end at level 20.

The general concept is a Human who uses a Glaive, eventually getting the polearm master and sentinel feats, but I'm just unsure of how to multiclass optimally or whether just to stick to one, because I think the flavour of Barbarian suits him much more, but the Fighter offers more versatility, and I'm unsure of if a multiclass will be better than the sum of it's parts or worse.

I'm thinking 1-6 in Battle Master Fighter, then 7-20 in Berserker Barbarian. My goal (mechanically at least) is to be a high damage frontline crowd controller with good defences, and I'm also looking to play something with zero magic since I normally play spellcasters and wanted to try a full martial character.

Are there any ideas I should take into consideration - does this multiclass setup seem good? Should I stick to just one of the classes?

Need help creating a fighter/rogue multiclass for 2024 edition

Heya, so for some context I'm playing in a homebrewed grimdark setting, my character is a nobleman who's learned basic magic (think Dutchess from Elden Ring Nightreign if you know of her). We start at level 3, and my stats are:
16
15
14
13
10
8

I'm playing as a variant human (with the dhampir lineage) and want to play a nimble, dexterity based, hit and run frontline martial character with good intelligence and a little bit of magic (eldritch knight or arcane trickster)

I definitely want to play eldritch knight or arcane trickster, but they both have features that I really want and can't decide how to multiclass it. Also something to note, even though it's probably not optimal I'd much rather use just a rapier instead of any conjured magical weapons.

Could anyone please suggest how I should build this character as well as what the progression should be?

New to whiskey - any recommendations?

For some context, I'm 20 living in the UK, and have only recently started getting into whiskey. I'm quite new to drinking as a whole so I'm trying to figure out what kind of notes I like, and so far I've pinned it down to smoother, peaty, smokey whiskeys with a hint of sweetness - my go-to right now is Johnnie Walker Black Label since in my opinion it tastes pretty good and is affordable.

I'm wondering if there are any more whiskeys that would suit my palette, since I'm interested in trying more complex and refined flavours. Are there any must-tries?
