Testing out DJI OM8 w/ SCX30

What a difference! I also tried out the Hohem V3 ultra. The DJI tracking and low angle stability were just light years better.

State of the 30s

Loving the collection. These things are just fantastic indoors. A little cranky to work on but honestly doable with decent tools even for my old eyes.

Friday Crew

Landscape really coming together. SCX30s are perfect for it.

Help!

The pic with the garage in it I have tried to bring in fescue but to no avail. Heavily shaded. The photo with the steps we have never tried to grow anything. Our dogs run back here and it’s also heavily shaded.

I’m wanting to landscape both areas but would like to leave plenty of open “lawn” space for the dogs and for kids.

Thoughts and ideas??? I’m located in central NC.

Into the Great Outdoors

First time getting the 30 out onto the trails. It's definitely a different experience than indoors and definitely different than running the 18th scales outside as well.

Making progress. Quieter running?

It still irks me I had to remove the front bumper and the wheel arches on the Bronco to even run 35s, but I am happy that with some shocks I can now run 40s.

I am loving this platform for indoor running. Way more fun in small spaces vs the 18th scale and frankly just a better platform for light mods than 24th scale.

Anyone had luck quieting this drivetrain?

Bronco Time!

Added a Bronco brother to go with the JLU. Super capable with some Injora brass wheels and Cling On tires. Only downside is I had to remove the front bumper and the wheel arches in order to be able to clear even these 37mm tires. Still rubs a bit at full lock, but its drivable.

Lots of tire options

The 40mm King Trekkers are my current favs.

Time for More Squish

My cutting is a bit janky but it gets the job done.

First Painted Tile

Finally decided it was time to add some depth to my Crawlagon tiles. Very happy with the results for my first attempt. Also LOVING the SCX30 on the XL tiles.

Springs dialed in

I swapped out the proline springs for the stock SCX30 springs. They are "too short" but work fantastic. Much better articulation, especially at full compression. Pretty happy with this setup.

Side note: Digging the look of these 40mm BFGs, but it definitely performs a bit better with a 36mm thus far, but need to try some other wheel combos to confirm.

Proline shocks with scx30 stock springs

Victory!! This gives me the lower stance look I want and it flexes much more nicely now on full compression. Free mods on paid mods for the win.

Help with Spec on Cayenne Electric - Espresso Club Leather?

https://preview.redd.it/da4nl3o63leh1.png?width=1534&format=png&auto=webp&s=5f808c891b6f2a37f1fe5d8263f9a756f04f4cbe

https://porsche-code.com/PTTUX7K1

I'm working on spec for a Cayenne Electric and really need some help on interior options. My wife and I do not like black interiors. We're trying to decide between

Black/Limestone

Espresso Club Leather

The challenge is its REALLY hard to find any decent pictures of the Espresso Club Leather. These are the best photos I have been able to find. https://cvluxurycars.com/inventory/2017-porsche-991-2-carrera-4s-night-blue-metallic-on-espresso-full-leather-pdk-premium-package-plus-front-axle-lift-sport-seats-140k-msrp-and-just-16k-miles/

Anyone with Espresso able to confirm this is an accurate reflection of the interior? The configurator photos are useless. I'm a little worried the Espresso may be too dark for us, but it does look pretty outstanding in the photos above. The limestone is "fine" because it is light in color, but neither of us is in love with it.

Thoughts? Opinions? Experiences?

Spyder RS drive impressions

Had the opportunity to drive a friend’s yesterday. My first time driving any of the modern 4.0 powered GT cars. WOW. 🤯

First up. My driveway can be tricky, front end lift handled it better than my 997 Carrera. This is dangerous info for me to have.

The intake noise… This is it. This is the reason to own this vehicle. It’s addictive.

Suspension is firm but compliant. Not crashy at all. I love my 997 but has me searching for Ohlins setup to get even a taste of modern dampening.

It gets a lot of attention from younger drivers and onlookers. The revs make everyone smile.

Just overall a fantastic drive that had me buzzing the whole time. I’m not a convertible person and I’ve dreamt about 911s since I was a kid and my 997 always puts a smile on my face. That said it just had me wondering how can I get that intake sound in my life.
