First time tank

Hello, I recently got a 3 gallon 8.68x8m68x10 rimless cube tank. I want to do a neocardinia shrimp setup. I want to do a dense bush of pearl weed in the back and a carpet or foreground of mini dwarf grass and a touche of Monte Carlo. I have been doing a lot of research and getting so many different options and answers. I really want that lush carpet look I do not plan on using hardscape. I plan on using a base of fluval stratum and sand on top. I'm seeding a sponge filter in my wife's tank right now. Will I need CO2 to set this up? Also how many tissue cultures of the grass and Monte Carlo should I get? I plan on cycling it for at least a couple of months before adding shrimp, but I'm reading shrimp and co2 don't always work well. I do not have the budget either to just do a full high tech setup for CO2. My water in Texas is hard which I read is good for shrimp, but bad for plants. This will be my first more legitimate attempt at setting a tank up. Any advice, guidance, or suggestion? TYIA.

Guitar teacher wants me to play electric

The dilemma I'm having is I want to learn folk and bluegrass music but right now I'm learning theory with him I don't ever play my electric at home even though I mostly listen to music with electric guitar anyways I told him I eventually want to learn bluegrass but today he told me he wants me to bring my electric guitar because the acoustic guitar is "limiting" while learning to play scales? Anyone have a similar experience? I guess my worry is if I use my electric for lessons and base everything around that I get better at it but not get better at what I want to play?

Cedar topped dreads

I'm treating myself to a new guitar this December for my birthday. I should have about 1700 to spend. Maybe more if I get family to pitch in as my gift. The thing is I want a singer song writer warm guitar, and I really love the way cedar sounds. I like the seagull s6 1982 reissue, but I'm getting caught up trying to find a similar sound and vibe but solid wood. Any suggestions on what I should look into or research. I really want a dreadnought. TYIA.
