I made a free app to track all my pets' health in one place — FamilyPet+ (Android)

Got tired of losing my pets' vaccine dates and vet info across notes and paper, so I made FamilyPet+: vaccine/med reminders, vet records, weight and feeding logs, with real-time family sharing. Works for dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, reptiles, rodents, fish and horses — all on one account.

Free, no ads: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.grizmow.familypet

I'm the dev — feedback welcome, especially anything missing for your animals.

A few weeks ago I was begging strangers to test my pet app. Today it's live on Google Play — because you stayed. Thank you.

I'm the solo dev behind FamilyPet+, a pet health tracker for Android. Not long ago I was posting in subs like this one, a little nervous, asking strangers to join my closed test.

Google's rule is rough for a one-person project: Google required real testers who join your closed test and stay opted in for 14 straight days before the app can graduate to production. Not a click and leave. Fourteen days of actually keeping it installed.

People showed up. They joined. They stayed the whole run. Some sent me bugs, screenshots, "this button is confusing," "my cat's profile did X." A few just quietly kept it on their phone for two weeks and never said a word — and that counted just as much.

Today the app is live in production on Google Play. Public. Available to everyone. It honestly could not have reached the public store without the people who stayed opted in. That's not a figure of speech — it's the literal gate, and you're the ones who got me through it.

So: thank you. Genuinely. If you tested it, you helped a stranger ship the thing he'd been building alone. I won't forget that.

A bit about what it is, for anyone new:

- Health and medical records for your pets

- Vaccine and treatment reminders, plus vet appointments

- Weight tracking and daily routines (meals, water, treats)

- Multiple pets and multiple species — not just dogs and cats

- Real-time family sharing, so everyone in the house stays in sync

I built it because most pet apps are single-dog-or-cat only, and none of them let the whole family stay on the same page in real time. If your partner feeds the dog, you see it. If the kid logs the cat's water, you see it. So nobody is the only person who remembers the deworming date.

The core is free, no ads. There's a Premium tier, but you don't need it to use the app properly.

Live link (the public one now, not the old beta opt-in):

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.grizmow.familypet

Disclosure: I'm the developer. This is my app.

I'm in the comments today. If you tested it, I'd love to know what to fix next. If you're new, tell me what's missing for your pets — blunt is better than polite.

Free pet care app needs testers — reciprocal testing welcome!

Hi all 👋

I'm a solo developer who just finished building FamilyPet+, an app that helps families stay on top of everything pet-related — vaccine schedules, medication reminders, vet appointments, meals, walks, photo memories, and more. Everyone in the household shares the same pet profile, so nothing slips through the cracks.

No ads. No data selling. Completely free.

To get it published, I need to clear Google's 14-day closed testing requirement, which means I need a handful of Android users on board. Honestly, just installing it and poking around every few days during the test window would mean a lot.

Going through the same testing grind yourself? Send me your app and I'll gladly return the favor 🙂

How to join (important: use the same Google account for both steps):

  1. Join the tester group → https://groups.google.com/g/familypet-testers
  2. Install the app → https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.grizmow.familypet

Really appreciate anyone who jumps in! 🐾

🐾 FamilyPet+ — Looking for testers (I'll test yours back!)

Hey everyone 👋

I've been building a small app called FamilyPet+, designed to keep track of your pets' daily life: vaccines, medications, vet visits, meals, walks, photos, and more. The whole family can view and update the same pet profile.

The app is completely free, with no ads and no data selling.

I'm currently working through Google's 14-day closed testing requirement and I'm looking for a few Android users willing to lend a hand. Even just installing the app and opening it now and then during the test period would be a huge help.

And if you're going through the same process, I'm happy to test your app in return 🙂

How to join (please use the same Google account for both steps):

  1. Join the tester group: https://groups.google.com/g/familypet-testers
  2. Install the app: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.grizmow.familypet

Thanks so much to anyone willing to help! 🐾
