Thinking about switching to a Pixel 8

Hi everyone! My current phone is a Redmi Note 12 Pro, and I don't really like it because it feels too bulky. I also feel like the phone just does whatever it wants, and the unremovable bloatware is really annoying.

I don't want an iPhone because the OS feels too closed, and I worry I won't have enough freedom. However, I've heard that the Pixel 8 tends to run hot and that some people are already transitioning back to their old phones.

Is it worth the switch?

How the Steam Deck basically raised me and changed my mindset

Hey everyone, I wanted to share a quick story about how this awesome device changed my life.

I’m a school student, and honestly, before I got my Steam Deck, I used to give up easily. Whenever something didn't work out or a problem popped up, I would just get frustrated, upset, and quit.

About two years ago, I got my Steam Deck. As you all know, since it runs on Linux, it’s not always "plug and play." I constantly ran into random issues, compatibility tweaks, and desktop mode headaches. But instead of letting me just rage-quit, the Deck felt like a strict but patient father teaching me life lessons. It forced me to troubleshoot, read forums, and figure things out.

Fast forward to today: I don't get upset when things go wrong anymore. The Steam Deck taught me how to stop crying over problems and start looking for solutions. It literally changed my mindset, and not just in gaming, but in life.

Just wanted to say thank you to Valve and this community!

Mouse cursor feels choppy on Fedora 44 (NVIDIA)

Hi everyone, a few days ago I switched from Linux Mint to Fedora. I have a minor problem: my mouse cursor feels choppy. I googled this problem but haven't found a working solution yet.

Here are my system specs:

OS: Fedora Linux 44 (Workstation) x86_64

DE: GNOME 50.2

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600

GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 (Discrete)

Monitor: Samsung 27" (1920x1080 @ 60 Hz, External)

Cursor Theme: WinSur-dark (24px)

What I've already tried: I am using the proprietary NVIDIA drivers from RPM Fusion. I tried switching the cursor theme back to the stock Adwaita theme, but it didn't help.

The stuttering is mostly noticeable when moving the cursor around. I'm looking for a straightforward solution since I don't really want to heavily tweak or mess up the system.

Sorry in advance if I forgot to include any important details, please let me know if you need more info! Any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks in advance!
