Apologies if this isn’t the right tag, but I figured this is a good place to share an idea I’ve been working on for years: an actual play tabletop RPG show set in a superhero world, with a vaguely incompetent and deeply flawed cast of characters much like the half-baked heroes we herald here (got into my Stan Lee bag there).

It’s still in the world building and pre-preproduction phases, but I’m starting to reach out to potentially like-minded folks to gauge interest and put feelers out for if anyone might want to collaborate on this project!

Structurally, I want to make something that feels like a comic book for the audio medium. Tonally, my goal is to achieve what Thunderbolts* (2023) did: taking a cast of screwballs and castoffs and showing that choices — not powers — are what make you a hero, and being able to play in the pools of both comedy and earnest heart equally. If you were to ask for an elevator pitch, I’d say this project is “What if the dystopia after the events of Watchmen was way more boring, and (even worse) the only heroes left to make things right are the Great Lakes Avengers?”

If you are frustrated by the extremely banal chaos of life around us but still embrace the weird in life, if you want to write/design/play/produce for a podcast that’s really bootstrapping here but is led by a labor-oriented person (🙋‍♂️) who is firmly committed to compensating creative work if monetization ever comes, or if you just want more info on something inspired by the greatest team ever assembled adjacent to a large body of fresh water, “Project Thrift Shop” (just the working title) might be for you! I’m playing a CK3 AGOT run with Queen Rhae Rhae, and the remaining ‘Guards from Viserys are starting to die out in this sim. It got me wondering if her non-Viserys/Aegon II royal guard are still recognized as serving the royal family in the highest capacity and memorialized in the White Book.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they aren’t (since Rhaenyra’s reign isn’t officially recognized in the succession history of the Iron Throne either), but the wiki is unclear and I don’t think F&B confirms anything either. I kinda like the idea that the order transcends the war in a way, but that might be too romantic an idea for a GRRM world. 😂

Randomizer has been treating me unkindly lately and homie decided to play out a losing contest. So I ended it mean.

I often see discussion about new, unique, and creative ideas for characters to play or runs to try to accomplish.

I’m curious what you all would consider the “classic” runs in this mod are, the iconic or most common characters to play or goals to try to achieve. What is the canon checklist for a CK3 AGOT player to go through and have a great experience?

I’ll also say that suggested characters in the bookmarks and Hall of Faces characters don’t need to be repeated, nor any sitting monarch of Westeros.

I’ll start:
• Restore an extinct House (e.g. Gardener, Reyne, Tarbeck, Mudd, etc.)
• Restore Valyria
• Revive the dragons
• Unite the Freefolk

What are your thoughts?

Just looking for anything that you found to help The Realm’s Delight survive her regency intact as an heir to the Iron Throne. I’m mainly playing RP style, but I’ve found certain things send a run sideways really fast.

For instance, helping Daemon win the Stepstones tends to make him too powerful and almost immediately he’ll declare war on Vizzy — and then next-door neighbor Corlys blows Dragonstone down. Considering how loyal Daemon actually was to his brother, I don’t consider that as realistic, so I’m mostly trying to get through the first four years of this bookmark without major hurdles.

If it matters, I am running LoV but not a ton of other game-shifting submods.

Hello! We have a very active Dynasty league with superflex IDP scoring (start 11 offense, 11 defense) on mfl.com. Rosters are 53 players on active, 12 on taxi, and 15 on IR. Seven round rookie draft.

This is a soccer style promotion/relegation league with two tiers (Elites and Proles). Prizes are different between the levels, $30 buy in annually.

We had an owner go AWOL and have not yet been able to start the off-season, so if you are interested in the team, get ready to learn fast and jump in quick!
