Skylark decaf & the fermentation project beans

Probably the best decaf I’ve ever had so having to reseal these into old empty bags seems worth it. Their note suggests you can store them in the bag for a while but yet they can’t be rested which is 🥴 and there is a very very thin layer inside the bag.

They’re offering the fermentation project beans on preorder, where is everyone buying theirs from?

Should I upgrade to a mazzer robur s for home use? [$3500]

On the hunt for the thickest shots possible for milk based drinks, I like medium to light medium roasts and recently bought a niche after hand grinding for a year.

Though the niche does produce better shots than my k6 I wonder if I could get even better shots with a mazzer robur s. Also I have a need for a hopper based grinder I’ve been gifted a couple of year long coffee subs.

Can anyone recommend a hopper based grinder that produces thick shots? Avoiding flat burrs as my brief stint with a cf64v before getting a niche was horrendous.

First time trying DAK’s milky cake

Using a niche zero at grind setting 20 and Rancilio Silvia with a Pullman basket, dosing 22g for a 1:2 ratio as anything lower and you’ll lose the cardamom notes. Really tasty as a milky drink.

Dark arts follow up

After initially having my first order of their dragon (250g) I quickly bought a kg bag and it is really different to the 250g bag. Roasted a lot lighter so my 1:1 shots have veg notes so I’m doing 1:2 shots, not the end of the world but sacrificing body in cup. Had a little surprise when dosing and thought I’d post it. The bean encased inside was super hard.

Also ordered their decaf and it’s pretty good

Their sweet soaker we’ve had a couple of shots and it’s definitely interesting. Drinkable but a little too funky for my taste at the moment.

After waiting several weeks for it to rest finally tried DAK’s milky cake and it’s super tasty in a milky drink. Is there a uk roaster with similar beans?

Advice please

I’m looking at having what seems to be called an ethnic rhinoplasty, could I please have some recommended surgeons. I would like to avoid turkey though I did ask one surgeon whose office quoted 6k euros. I am more inclined to go go South America, specifically Brazil with dr Carlos bucheli, any thoughts on this surgeon?
Any pointers would be super appreciated as I know nothing about nothing 🫶

Wpm primus vs fellow espresso series one vs Wendougee lita ba (dual boiler)

Let’s hypothesise that they’re all the same price which one would you get and why? I haven’t found a direct comparison online yet.

Wpm primus vs fellow espresso series one vs Wendougee lita ba (dual boiler)

I feel like the Wpm primus reviews I’ve seen online were biased. The fellow series one doesn’t seem as advanced as the other two and the Wendougee lita seems the best but not a lot of full on reviews in English yet online.

Milky drinks so you may want to skip

Trying new beans and trying to figure out rest periods is a new variable for me, I’ve stuck with the same beans from pact for a long time but decided to try new beans and I feel spoilt for choice. This sub has helped a lot so thanks.

If anyone has recommendations for espresso beans for milky drinks I’d love to hear them.

All bags are new to me other than dragon as I recently finished a small bag pretty quickly & shamelessly.

Photos of what I have at the moment not including in the freezer (Brazilian beans brought to the uk by a colleague)

V60 needed?

I’m assuming making this into an espresso isn’t the way to go, ChatGPT suggests a v60. I’ve never had filter coffee before is it worth getting one just for this or can I mokapot this shhhhhhh or espresso it?
I don’t think I’d enjoy filter coffee but willing to try, has anyone tried this coffee yet?

Can’t grind fine enough [CF64v Mazzer 233m burrs]

I recently got my hands on a cf64v but didn’t like the stock red ti burrs (2nd and 3d photos) so I did some research and since I want thick syrupy shots I installed the mazzer burrs however I’ve only had issues ever since. Grinding at burr chirp/ new 0 point results in a super fast shot, also there is a lot more coffee stuck everywhere between burrs etc. Grinding with stock burrs for espresso was at 25ish.

Are these burrs not compatible with the cf64v. Do I need to do something with the grinder so it fits better?

I’m not sure aligning the burrs is the issue but that’s my next step. Does anyone know how to remove burs that are properly stuck ???

Thanks
