Canon RP vs R8 (according to my needs)

Hi everyone! I need some tips or/and advice regarding this two cameras. I know that the R8 is a better (maybe much better) and newer camera than the RP, but I'll provide some information about myself, previous gears, my financial condition and my goals which may lead to choose one or another.

So, I've been taking pictures for about 20 years. I started with 14 years old when I bought my first camera, a Canon A60.
In all these years I owned a bunch of cameras: Canon XT, 60D, Nikon 3xxx, 5xxx and 7xxx line, D750, Olympus EM5 and EPL8. There was also I time, for about 5 years, that I shot exclusively on film and developed them myself (also had about 20 different cameras between point and shoot and SLRs).

My second to last camera was a Canon 6D which I used for about 4 years. The image quality was pretty impressive for a camera with that age, although the focus was pretty bad.

I used to work with photograhy for a few years, but I don't do it anymore (it's been a long time since I stopped, actually) so I don't make money with it and the gear is not a work tool that would justify investing huge amounts of money.

Also, I live in Brazil where things can be pretty expensive and hard to buy.

Well, in 2024 I started to feel two negative things about the Canon 6D that made me sell it: first was the size and weight of the camera (specially using the 24-105mm f4), preventing me from taking it to certain places where I would not feel confortable holding it or carrying a huge backpack.
Second was the focus, I know that the camera didn't get any worse within the years - but with the mirrorless "hype" I felt that I've been missing a lot when it comes to focus speed and accuracy.

So, after selling it I bought a Sony a6400 - and I must say: what an incredible little camera! The ISO capability is pretty impressive, being able to shoot ISO 10,000 almost perfectly clean. I think I can say that the noise in this APSC camera is better than the full frame 6D sensor.
And the focus, omg... SO fast and precise. The eye tracking is phenomenal!
But... I really miss the "full frame characteristics" that the 6D provided. Specially in the DOF aspect.
I used to shoot the 6D with a 35mm f2 and the bokeh was way more pleasant than using the a6400 with a 23mm f/1.4 (which has a 35mm FOV).

So I was thinking about selling the a6400 and getting a FF mirrorless camera. After weeks of research on different brands bodies and lenses (Sony, Nikon, Canon, Panasonic) I ended up with these two options: Canon RP and R8.

I know that the R8 it's a big step up from the previous RP model, but do you guys think is justifiably the price different for a hobbyist who uses primarily for family and friends memories, some concerts and vacations? Do you think the RP it's a "downgrade" coming from the a6400?

I don't record videos, just pictures and I almost never shoot sports - but I love shooting in low light conditions.

The price difference here is:
RP - 5.400 BRL
R8 - 8.500 BRL
BRL = Brazilian Real (my country's currency)

So, that makes the R8 about 63% more expensive than the RP.

Sorry for the extremelly long post, I just wanted to point out all that matters so I can make the right choice.

Agradece quem puder ajudar!

O Facebook e o Instagram no começo eram legal.
