Woman who owns the sun

Spanish citizen María Ángeles Durán notarized a document declaring herself the owner of the Sun, claiming she had found a loophole in international space law.

She threatened to charge people for using solar energy and pledged to direct the proceeds toward public welfare. Her claim had no legal standing because international treaties prohibit the appropriation of celestial bodies, and eBay later banned her attempts to sell plots of the Sun.

Have you ever wondered why God allowed it to happen? Sometimes the things we cannot understand today become the things we thank God for later.

There are moments in life when we look back and ask:

"Lord, why did You allow that to happen?"

Why did that relationship end?

Why did that door close?

Why did that opportunity disappear?

Why did I have to go through that pain?

Some seasons leave us with questions that don't have immediate answers. And if we are honest, sometimes it is hard to see God's goodness while we are still hurting.

But just because you cannot see the purpose yet... Does not mean God is not working.

We often judge a moment based on how it feels.

But God sees it based on what He is producing.

A closed door may have protected you.

A painful ending may have redirected you.

A difficult season may have strengthened you.

A loss may have created space for something greater.

Think about Joseph.

His brothers betrayed him.

He was sold into slavery.

He was falsely accused.

He spent years in prison.

If Joseph only looked at one moment, he could have believed God abandoned him.

But years later, he realized that God was working through every painful chapter.

What people meant for harm, God used for purpose.

Sometimes we ask God to explain the chapter we are currently living...

But God is still writing the story.

You may not understand why it happened.

You may not understand why God allowed it.

But you can trust the One who was with you through it.

Because faith is not always having every answer. Sometimes faith is trusting God even when you don't.

Maybe one day you will look back and say,

"Now I understand why God didn't let me stay there."

"Now I understand why that door closed."

"Now I understand why that season had to happen."

The pain was real.

The questions were real.

But so was God's presence.

So don't let what you don't understand make you doubt what you already know:

God is faithful.

God is working.

God is still writing.

Have you ever wondered why God allowed it to happen?

Maybe the answer is not found in what you lost... Maybe it is found in who you became because of it.

He said goodbye to his best friend the same way they had spent so many years together, riding the waves side by side. In August 2026, Costa Rican surf instructor Diego Jiménez gave his beloved dog Thai one final trip to the ocean after 16 years together.

Thai had been battling cancer, and when the time came to say goodbye, Diego carried him onto a surfboard, scattered flower petals around him, and let the waves become their final shared place. Diego later wrote, “See you soon… we will always feel each other, in every wave, in every sunset, always in the sea.”

Their farewell touched millions online because it was more than a goodbye. It was one last moment in the place where so many of their happiest memories had been made.

Sixteen years of friendship, one final wave, and a love the ocean could never wash away.
