Glitter in rear diff fluid

We were getting creaking or rubbing sounds from the rear axel at slow speeds on our '11 E90 328i Xdrive (62k miles) and spent the morning troubleshooting.

With a cheap Amazon stethoscope, I found a clicking sound coming from the passenger (right) side of the rear diff.

Upon changing the diff fluid, it was glittery with a few .5 mm chunks.

Looking like I need a new rear differential.

Any guess on the cause? I changed the fluid a year ago (Delvac 75w90), I do lift the car by the rear diff a few times a year.

How difficult is this as a DIY job on jackstands?

Options to Remove Unprofessional Sheriff?

Some Pierce County residents want to remove unprofessional Sheriff Keith Swank while preserving the position of an elected Sheriff. Any thoughts on how this could legally work?

For reference, Swank spends his workday tweeting insults at constituents. He was reportedly going to be fired from SPD for this behavior - he resigned before this could happen.

Love the father's day gift from the family - it's much better than expected. Yes, I have multiple fancy expensive automatics, but a fun summer watch for timing burgers on the grill shouldn't be expensive.

Pillar interior clip replacements-02

Looking for a replacement for these interior clips from the pillars on a 2002 x5 e53. The tip measures just shy of 5mm. Can't seem to find anything similar at local auto parts stores or online.

These are likely used in many models of this era. Any advice would be appreciated.

Just picked up a beautiful '02 E35 x5 that had a bad DSP amplifier due to water intrusion. The leaking sunroof drain problem is now fixed, new DSP amp is installed.

The amp now needs to be coded to the car since it was taken out of a different model. The stereo produces sound for 35 seconds, then cuts out.

Is there a simple software or app to code this?

Would I be better bringing to a BMW indy shop? Any shops or recommend, or folks who can code, North of Seattle (Snohomish, Skagit, Island or Whatcom area?)
