Favorite thing your kids scripts?
For those of you with kids who mostly script what are some of your favorites?
Some of mine:
Bedtime routine, since he was around 4 I’ve always said
“I love the you so…” he responds “much”
“Your are my best…” - “friend”
“In the entire…”. - “world”
Since he was a baby my mom would always say “I’m gonna get you” before tickling him, we started doing it too. Now he’ll come up to us and say “I’m gonna get you” when he wants to be tickled. He’s also said it to Santa, Mickey Mouse and some random people…. It’s always funny
Really recent - when he has to go potty he’ll mimic me “potty time, excellent, dododododo”
(Parody Wayne’s world, he hasn’t started doing the air guitar yet)
The dentist is a rough experience, but we survived - anyone with older kids... is this what high support needs dentistry is for us from now on? How do parents with older kids manage teeth?
Man... so, we've been going to the dentist with our guy since he started teething. He's had a harder and harder time as he's grown up (8 now). They've always struggled with exams, never had x rays or cleanings... its just rough. We brush twice a day (usually), have a special toothbrush to make it easier... flossing never goes well so we dont do it often enough.
So... today we found out what the dentist now looks like for our guy going forward.
They used anesthesia (mask) to put him under, do the exam and do all the work he needed.
Show up at 6:15 AM, go under around 6:30, under for around 3 hours.
3 extractions (2 front baby teeth that were loose & 1 cracked tooth)
4 metal caps on cavities
3 or 4 teeth sealed (including 2 adult molars)
He had a really rough time when he first woke up (coming off the anesthesia, and noticing the change)
We spent the first few hours home making sure he didnt try to walk around (they were worried hed be too wobbly) - spent the day at home watching bluey and making sure he didnt try to bite anything in frustration to avoid opening anything before the sutures came out.
He bounced back great and is going to school tomorrow but man... his mouth looks ridiculous and that was... a lot.
I'm just worried this is what will happen every few years and I want to figure out how to avoid it...
I dont know if I'm looking for advice just... what an experience... what a day.
Would you create a deck for this interview?
I have an exercise to do for a final interview. It's a sr. leadership position, an hour and a half with the leadership team.
The email from HR states:
- No formal presentation is expected or required. Please feel free to organize and present your thoughts in the way that best facilitates discussion. If slides are helpful, great, but they are absolutely not mandatory.
Right now... I'm creating more of a white paper because it's the easiest way to organize my thoughts... but this job will require quite a bit of powerpoint.
What do you think?
