Scrambled

Ok everyone, I have been teaching over two years and this move that I actually enjoy is the one move I have to correct the most…any tips? I always cue scrambled eggs as working the opposite oblique, so if left foot is in the strap, the right oblique is doing the most work to stabilize…often will go from tailbone or kneeling torso twist to scrambled. Eeeeevery time, people lean into the opposing hip. I offer clients to scoot closer to the sweeping leg for more stability, but every time I watch people in this move…it’s like my hands and cues can’t seem to get clients in proper form(opposite leg has knee under hip, and opposite oblique is stabilizing as you sweep the strap leg back). I just think it’s a move I don’t plan to teach anymore because a side plank/twister/twisted bear/twisted crunch seem to keep clients in better form…
Thoughts?? I personally like the move, but I find that the form is hard to nail and I can only correct so many people in a full class…sorry for the rant!

Method

Hey my lagree loves. Just a post to see how many of you teach at studios that aren’t lagree…this being fully non biased. More out curiosity. I know of a few trainers near me that teach both Lagree and Solidcore. Reason for asking: do you think lagree is better? If so why?

Solidcore AZ

Looking for everyone’s favorite HARD instructors in AZ. Right now there are three locations: quarter, McCormick ranch, biltmore. I want to feel like they are a bit unhinged for asking me to do a move haha

Routine

Hey everyone. I’m just wondering what platform you use to write your routines down. I realize that using a notebook is great in the process, but to have access later I would rather use a template. Thank you

Solidcore Thoughts

As a lagree instructor I had to see what Solidcore was about. I posted a while back, but here are my final thoughts after my 4 day intro pass:
Solidcore is way more intense! The instructors always give you a guide for spring load based on classes you have taken, but either way, I definitely feel that the overall workout is everything I would want a Lagree class to be every time.
Have heard criticism about form checks being minimal, but that was not my experience at all. There was always an option given to modify or advance a move, and a lot of encouragement along the way. I realize this may be studio and instructor dependent, but I chose to take class from more experienced instructors.
Either way, consider me a lagree instructor convert…considering a teaching position at Solidcore because I just always leave feeling like I was WORKED. I realize not everyone wants to get their ass kicked every workout, but I love it. So empowering. I highly recommend lagree instructors to take class from an experienced Solidcore instructor to at least make the comparison. Some instructors were a bit to shout out/chatty for me, but even with that, I got an amazing workout every time. I am no longer a Lagree is the best girl…bc I used to be. I think people wanting to advance in their lagree style workout should check out Solidcore.

Cross training

What is your training split with Solidcore? I come from a weightlifting/running/lagree background. I purchased the Solidcore intro special and I’m obsessed with the intensity. It’s harder than any Lagree class I have taken, and consistently so.
Curious about your training splits.
My plan: 3x Solidcore, 2 x lower lift and 1 full body. Run/stairs 3 times a week. 8k step goal bc I feel diet is most important, but still important to move around. Just curious what others are doing in addition to Solidcore!

The method and the machine

To all the trainers out there, how do you like the new megapro? Our studio doesn’t have the newer machines but I have practiced on them and actually find the older machines to be more challenging…maybe due to the weight of the carriage…
I also just feel that the older machines were built better. Aside from that, how does everyone feel about the direction that Lagree is taking? I feel there is so much marketing and push for the new machines(like his current tilted machine in the works) when the focus should be on educating trainers bc good trainers will keep people coming back.
When I was certified I had way more access to moves/variations. That material was taken away and is now part of “level 2” training. Even level 2 was maybe 6 or so courses before…and now it’s 12 to be officially level 2.
At the end of the day I just don’t love how it feels like a multi level marketing scheme…like..what in the Herbalife is happening to Lagree. I love the method, but I just don’t love the direction. Ok…rant done!

Teaching pay/ following

To my fellow trainers, I know it isn’t the money, but pay is important for the time you take outside of class to prepare. Time teaching doesn’t mean a better teacher of course. But for those that are filling classes, what is your pay and do you think it’s fair? I just want an honest perspective as to what you make as a trainer that has been teaching for a while(more than a year)…and has a following. If you are filling classes..especially with members, what is your pay? This is Reddit, so free space to share that.

Solidcore vs Lagree

Ok everyone, first Solidcore class and I went in skeptical but I actually loooved it. I felt more challenged than any class I have recently taken in Lagree. There were so many spring options to progress and I got such a good burn. Did a shoulder/center glute focus and it was amazing. Instructor had us to back lunge to Xpress(different names) to single thrust with dumbbell of choice, right into step ups at the back. The core work was so amazing as well as upper. Just wondering if anyone else here has compared/thoughts. I really enjoyed having more spring options tailored to different levels based on number classes.
