In 2015, Texas father George Pickering II drew a gun at Tomball Regional Medical Center to stop doctors from taking his son off life support after a brain death diagnosis. In the 3-hour SWAT standoff, the son squeezed his hand on command. The son recovered. His father spent 11 months in jail.

I might need to confess after this side hustle

I’m a UGC creator and most of my content is about the Bible, faith and Christianity, so this was probably the last collab I expected to get. For context this is my portfolio , so you can imagine how random this collab felt when it landed in my inbox haha.

A paranormal app reached out and offered me $300 to test their app and film the experience. It works like a paranormal version of Pokémon Go and sends you to creepy locations nearby to look for paranormal activity. Very on brand for me I would say.😂

I brought a friend with me and the app ended up leading us to an abandoned house. We went in to get some footage and found a room with burned candles on the floor and a bunch of random objects arranged around them. It looked suspiciously ritual-ish and suddenly the $300 did not feel like enough money anymoreeee, so we got the footage and left very very quickly.

I’m still not sure how I went from Christian UGC to exploring abandoned houses looking for ghosts, but I think I need to read a few extra Bible verses after this one hahah. Got my $300. Went home. Opened my Bible. God plz meeee

A Banana the Size of Your Forearm

The Hua Moa is a Polynesian banana variety, likely originating somewhere in the Marquesas Islands, that made its way to Hawaii and eventually South Florida, where small farms still grow it today. Unlike a standard grocery store banana, it grows short, thick, and almost melon-shaped, sometimes reaching 10 inches long and 4 inches across, with dense, creamy flesh that turns a distinct orange-pink as it ripens.

It's technically closer to a plantain botanically, but unlike true plantains, it doesn't need to be cooked, it can be eaten raw once fully soft, tasting rich and almost custard-like. Production in Florida has dropped off hard since its 1990s peak, mostly due to hurricanes and plant disease. You'll probably only see this in photo than irl probably, unless you go to Hawaii.

A Gentle Reminder

Sabi sa first page ng book na to "The right person will know how to hold your love. The right person will choose you just as deeply as you choose them. You will not have to quiet the way you care, you will never feel like you are too much"

It excites me to know that this is genuinely possible, but for someone like me who has not treated this way, would it still be possible to feel this kind of love?

I am in my 40's. Had a kid when I was 19 and literally raised my kid alone. Blessed that he has been successful and is now navigating his adult life alone.

During quiet times like this, I often wonder if I would ever find that person as stated in this book. I wonder if I would have the chance to enjoy the remainder of my life with someone or would I just have to enjoy it alone. Would someone still pick me up from work after the long day? Would I still get babied and cuddled on days that I feel weak? Would someone be willing to hold my hand when things are challenging and tell me that we would work things out?

I have been strong for my self and kid all my life. Now this tita is longing to be cared for.

. Baby comes into contact with a herpes simplex virus a few days after birth causing brain infection

The baby was born in 2017 and lived until 5 years of age. Baby has impaired mental function and needs assistance with physical movement. Babies can sometimes survive missing large parts of their brain because the brainstem handles basic life functions, while a baby’s highly flexible brain can reroute other tasks

Try to study on used papers

Use the ugliest piece of paper you can find: the back of an old worksheet, scratch paper, a paper bag, or anything else you would normally throw away. The less precious the paper feels, the better. (No offense to papers)

Then, without looking at your notes, write down everything you can remember about the topic. Don’t worry about whether it is complete, well-organized, or even entirely correct. The usual way. Put down definitions, formulas, examples, names, keywords, connections between ideas, and whatever of the information remains your brain happens to retrieve. If you need to draw arrows or make diagrams that only make sense to you, you do that too. The paper itself is a mess, so do anything regardless if it looks like a mess.

Why? As it tests the limits of your memory. Once you’ve written down everything you can, go back to your actual notes and compare them with what you produced.

You can repeat the process on a fresh sheet until you can reconstruct the important ideas with fewer mistakes. There is also a psychological advantage to using paper you consider disposable: you are less likely to waste time trying to make your writing organized or pleasing. Since the page is not meant to become a permanent study resource, you can treat it as a space for thinking rather than note-taking.

The point is you’re using these scraps only to test what you can recall. So, never forget to maximize your resources.

Emo Mode On

Been a while since I have been on this state or mood. But since I stayed all day at home, alone, I ended up crying.

Going to celebrate my birthday tomorrow. No plans but i went on leave for 2 days.

At this point, dating has not been in my favor. Though I can say, I am emotionally available and willing to adjust to that guy who would sweep me off my feet. Sadly, I come across men who are not ready for a serious relationship, or way below my standards. I am not pretty, but I can say I am presentable. I am stable enough to know what I want and be treated with the same respect I can give to a partner.

How i wish I can just remove this longing in my heart. Make me happy with just friends, work, and pets. Be ready to sleep even without the good night's and I love you's.
