Got a great deal on a savage 12 to make a very cheap trainer. But it has a 1:9 barrel so trying to figure out what is the best long range target bullet I can push out of it w/o getting a new barrel.
The research I’ve done so far seems like a 77gr Berger OTM/ SMK is the best I can do for 1:9. 73/75gr ELDM’s look to be taking a BC hit in Berger’s calculator.
But wanted to ask the hive mind in case there is something I missed out there.
