My first game just left Early Access - Buster Breaks Out

I released Buster Breaks Out into Early Access back in March. It hasn't become some huge commercial success, but it's done better than I ever expected. I've also been able build a little community of interested players, and got to see my game played on stream by one of my favorites!

The game is on sale during the Steam Pins & Pegs fest. Please try it if you have any love for the brick breaker genre, but want a modern take on it!

Cheers to all the solo-devs out there. Here's hoping you find success, even if you don't become an instant millionaire :)

My Nubby-like is out in 1.0, and Nubby himself made it in

Hello again, Nubs.

A few months ago I posted here about my Nubby-inspired brick-breaking roguelite, Buster Breaks Out. The game is now officially out in 1.0, and I wanted to follow up with one particularly important addition:

Nubby himself is now in the game as Nub Ball, an upgrade which has a very NNF-lite number-merging mechanic.

Thanks again to Mog for being super cool, inspiring the game, and for letting this whole thing come full circle with an actual approved Nubby™️ cameo :)

Cheers to Nubby and all the others celebrating the Steam Pins & Pegs fest!

A new trailer for my game, Buster Breaks Out

My first indie dev experience thus far:
It's been about 3 months since I released my game to Early Access, and I've got to say it's been really nice just how kind the reception has been. I've managed to get a tiny but invested community going on Discord, have made a (very) modest amount in sales.

Just want to say to other indie devs: If you want to make games because you want to share your ideas with others, then just do it. I'm really happy I did. Don't worry about chasing sales, or worrying about all the little launch details. You might find that the most rewarding part is just having something you made out there in the world. Worry about money on game #2 (or #3, or #4)!

A little about how the game has changed during Early Access:
- I've added a ton of new upgrades, a whole new item system, and just recently, a "weekly run" mode with a leaderboard.
- I've tackled a lot of fixes and balance adjustment. So thankful for my tiny Discord and all of the feedback they've given. Just having a few interested people willing to give their input and find bugs is such a gift, and all I can say is thanks!
- Buster Breaks Out is on sale all week! If you decide to check it out, thanks in advance : )

Happy Memorial Day all.
