The audible beep associated with locking and unlocking the car has stopped working. I’ve double checked settings in iDrive (7) and in BimmerCode to make sure it isn’t disabled. Note that I did disable the beep/horn noise that activates when you lock the car while the engine is on.
Based on bimmerpost forums it is possible that the fuse for the beeping noise is blown. That is believed to be fuse F103. Attached are pictures of the fuse diagram for my vehicle along with pics of the various places I’ve looked for fuse boxes.
- I found a fuse box in the trunk which matches the diagram but does not house F105.
- I found a fuse box in the passenger footwell but cannot figure out how to better expose it and compare to the diagram/locate F105.
- I did NOT find a fuse box under the hood on the passenger. I looked behind the battery and terminals and lifted the wiper cowl.
I believe F105 is in the footwell. Any insight on how to better access it and confirm?
Anyone else feel like their bucket filler goes unused or is just impractical? See my wall mount set up (pictured below). I have a large sink with hot water in the garage (not pictured) just 18 feet away. I find myself using the sink more often than not. In terms of my process, I have a few different wash styles and am just a long time detailing enthusiast.
Vehicles: 1 SUV, 1 sedan (both ceramic coated and paint is in really great shape). About once a month I do a detail for a family member or friend as well.
Set up: Active 2.0, high TDS water at 450 ppm (Scottsdale, AZ) and large driveway with option to pull vehicle into garage to get out of sun when needed or to finish drying. I also have a portable DI system if I want to rinse inside the garage (helpful during the hot summers). Only downside is I can only fit one vehicle into the garage at a time.
Process: Once a month (sometimes every 2-3 weeks), I fire up the pressure washer and do a deep clean. Every few months that will include iron decon and water spot/mineral treatment via clay towel. Otherwise, it’s more of a maintenance wash via rinseless method (every 5 to 7 days). I have 2 buckets and grit guards and used to be a long time Garry Dean method guy with multiple MF towels. Now, I have high quality mitts and multiple drying towels so don’t find myself even using both buckets either. I basically have one for the car paint and the other is wheels only.
Back to my original point. I never use the bucket filler. Nothing about it is useful. Yes, my products are nearby (see black storage cabinet in pic). But I find myself using sink because I measure out products and it’s nice to rinse my cup or tools at the sink. Also, I have hot water at the sink which is helpful for so many other reasons.
Looking at my set up and process, can anyone suggest some uses for the bucket filler? Note that I have a separate hose line from the pressure washer too. That has an Eley nozzle on it and I love using it too. If you’ve never held an Eley in your hand I suggest you try it.
Any advice is appreciated.
