Why didn't the Duffer Brothers answer more questions during their recent interview?

All they did was basically restate answers they had given in previous interviews. They said they would answer all of the big questions but they refused to answer

  1. What happened to the Dr. Kay and the military

  2. What happened to Dr. Owens

  3. What happened to the Demogorgons

  4. Why was the MF a flesh kaiju and not a shadow form

  5. Why did Will not writhe in agony when Vecna/MF was being attacked

These are some questions fans actually had. We ended up getting very little in what may be the Duffer's final Stranger Things interview

When asked about Eleven's fate, the Duffer brothers instead asked the audience if they believe by clapping if "they believe." Most of the audience clapped.

Notes from the Duffer interview

I'll only post the parts that relate to Mike and El. My sourcing is good for this info but feel free to wait until the whole interview is posted

Overall, nothing new was really said and the Duffers don't regret anything. The only new info (if you could call it that) is that their stance on El's fate seems to have softened and it seemed to strongly imply that she was alive

  1. They said they had the ending for Eleven planned for years
  2. They praised Finn and Millie's acting in the Void and had to reshoot the scene a few times.
  3. Millie cried when she found out her character's ending
  4. El knows she must sacrifice herself when she looked at Kali at the end
  5. Duffers were confused why actors like Sadie Sink thought she (Eleven) was dead and said so on Jimmy Fallon
  6. Duffers didn't answer if they thought Eleven was alive or dead, they asked the audience to answer by clapping if they believe or not. Most of the audience clapped when asked if they believe
  7. Byler was "never in the cards", it was always Mike and El
  8. Duffers said there is no bad blood between them and Netflix
  9. Ross Duffer feels detached from the fandom right now
  10. Duffers were involved with Tales 85 early on but basically gave up control and were happy with it and how it turned out
  11. Tales From 85 will get at least one more season and they are optimistic maybe even a third
  12. There's a spin-off in the works but because they work for Paramount, they can't say anything on behalf of Netflix.
  13. The spin-off is entirely all new and they aren't in any rush to finish it right now. It may or may not have "Stranger Things" in the title.
  14. They praised Finn a lot and how he acted in the last scene. All the cast came to see his last scene.
  15. Both brothers were asked who was their favorite romantic relationship to write for. Ross said Lumax. Matt said Jopper.
  16. They don't intend on personally continuing with the characters but implied Netflix can continue. For now, the Duffers are focusing on a "very different" film for Paramount

Finn Wolfhard just got cast in *two* different movies

News breaking in the last 24 hours for two separate movies

The first is an untitled Matt Johnson film. Based on the true story of a Vice Canada editor who used the company's offices to recruit young people as international cocaine mules. Wolfhard plays the Canadian investigative journalist who helped break the story, which was originally published in the National Post.

Neon Lands New Movie From Matt Johnson Starring Finn Wolfhard

The second is an animated movie by Parasite director Bong Joon Ho, expected for release in 2027. The 3D-animated family adventure follows a piglet squid (voiced by Alex Jayne Go) dreaming of the sun.
