Flooding rain, damaging winds, non-zero risk of a tornado for NJ Tuesday.

Our intern, Derek Diehl (give him a follow!), who just graduated from Rutgers with a Meteorology degree, has the forecast. It's his first one for us. We had it scheduled this way. What a day to start.

How did you make out in Thursday night's storm?

I'm going to do a video / article on it Friday, but would like to hear from you. Surf City Yacht Club gusted to 82 mph. That's the strongest gust in a thunderstorm this year in the state.

A significant flooding event is taking place in Monmouth County Monday. Here's the latest:

Flooding developed quickly Monday morning across Monmouth County and northern Ocean County, creating dangerous travel conditions and forcing several road closures.

In Highlands, flooding was reported near Snug Harbor and Bay Avenue. Roads were closed in the Monmouth County Bayshore town because of high water.

Flooding was also reported in several other Monmouth County communities, including Wall, Monmouth Beach, Deal and Neptune Township. Ocean Avenue in Deal had flooding, and Route 71, a major road through the borough, was closed.
