First vacation with a baby

Hi everyone! My family and I have been visiting the beautiful Cape May area for over 30 years.

This will be the first time I’m bringing my baby and my baby’s first vacation in general. My little one is 8 months old so I’m looking for recommendations on maybe nice areas for stroller walks?

I’d appreciate any other hacks/tips for traveling the area with a baby.

Saw my first Cape May shark!

Even if it is in a tank, I hear that it'll be released from the Wetlands Institute into the wild eventually.

Stolen Bike. I’d appreciate a little help locating my bicycle that taken from the rack on Beach in front of Carney’s. The picture enclosed is the girl’s version of the bike. Stolen bike doesn’t have basket. If you took a joy ride last night just put it back on any of the racks on Beach

Steep slope on cape may point beaches

Trying to plan our beach days for the next couple of days-last year the cape may point beaches all had a big drop off and my kids were in up to their necks within a few feet. How are the point beaches looking this year? Smoother slope?

Increase in seagulls stealing food

Am I crazy or has anyone noticed the seagulls are much more food aggressive lately? They’ve been stealing food from my cousins hand, something I’ve never seen them do before.

Is this house possibly in Cape May County? Do any residents know where this could’ve been taken?

I was wondering if anyone from the area of Cape May, New Jersey, knew where this photo was taken at. It seems as though it was taken somewhere in the Northeastern portion of the United States; I am getting a lot of results for Cape May when I reverse search this. If anyone has any info, please let me know in the comment section or DMs! Thanks and have a wonderful blessed day :)

Any recommendations for a reasonable place to stay in Sept - Oct?

Stone Harbor is getting insanely expensive. It’s around $150-180 a night to stay there in October! Anywhere on the island!
I love Cape May, and always spend a couple of days there when I am down the shore.
I hope to find a somewhat affordable room there, say $100 a night or less in Sept or Oct.
Thanks for any suggestions!

What do cops usually do on the off season when it’s really quiet?

Idk I feel like the most action they usually get is during the summer and nothing else really. Maybe I could be wrong though.?

Sunset beach July proposal

I am spending a few nights with my gf in Cape May in mid July and I am thinking of popping the big question. My plan was to get to Fish House on a Thursday and propose on the beach after dinner while the sun is starting to set. I have read up that the beach gets pretty crowded, especially in the peak summer months. I am ok with some people being around, as I know that will be unavoidable, but is there usually opportunities to find a little more space if I you trek up the beach more? I am hoping that by doing it Thursday I might have a little more luck before the weekend crowd is in full force. Open to suggestions if other neighboring spots may be better!

Armed F-18s flying over Cape May

I saw something this past week I've never seen before. Two F-18s were returning to Virginia going east to west over the beach, armed. They were low enough that you could clearly see the sidewinder missiles attached to the wings, along with other ordinance on the inner wings and the external tank in the middle.

I'm used to seeing the jets fly over doing drills and other maneuvers, but always unarmed. The two armed F-18s were accompanied by two others that were unarmed (4 in total). This was a few days ago and about a half hour earlier, we heard two sonic booms that were significantly muted by the ocean, but still very recognizable. Wonder if there was some kind of incident or potential threat?

4th of July Sights

My family, 5 middle aged guys and gals, is meeting up for whale watching and fireworks on the fourth. Tour leaves at 7pm, so I'm looking for some must-do activities during the day while we wait.

Other than watching the parade we're pretty much up for anything, so please share what you can. Sorry for the late request, plans just came together!
