I thought tonight's sunset was going to be a wash. Just as I packed up my camera this Bright Red sun poked through the only clearing in the approaching storm cloud. It felt like it was just the sun and I left in the entire world. Danby, NY

Driving for beer and tacos while watching this incredible cell form along the way. This eventually was responsible for 90mph straight line winds that caused home and tree damage in its path. Didn't need to chase this one, just stumbled upon it!

Scud the Dragon lands in Danby, NY!!! The most fascinating cloud formation I've ever photographed and I didn't even have to leave my backyard! I watched this ordinary supercell transform into an extraordinary dragon created out of scud clouds!

Standing in the middle of the inflow zone, having scuds and air rushing all around me was absolutely amazing. Check out how quickly this thunderstorm organizes on the far ridge. The lighting color changes were also striking! (4th shot, different location.) front of me!)

Scud Lane
As severe weather instances occurrences increase in the Finger Lakes of NY so do opportunities for novice storm chasers like myself to photograph them. On this morning of potential severe weather events in CNY I'm starting my Reddit experience with a photo of a scud cloud which formed down this lane in Danby, NY a couple of weeks ago.
