Venom(s) Done

Here are my 86th and 87th painted models of 2026. Good-ish Guy and Bad-ish Guy Venom. As always, there are things I would do differently, but I'm ok with these.

Dengar is Done

Well, here he is. My 85th completed model of 2026. He was more challenging to paint than I thought he would be, but he turned out ... ok-ish, and he's no longer grey plastic, so that's always a plus! I'm looking forward to getting him on the table.

Night of the Goblin: Hard, Delicate Plastics

Is it just me, or is the plastic harder to cut, harder to scrape, and more delicate somehow than the standard MCP plastic? I'm using a fresh blade and cleaning up a Spider Slayer and the Warriors Three at the same time. The plastic on the Slayer is reacting differently from the plastic on the Warriors.

Plus, I glued a Goblin Army guy onto a base (using MCP bases, not the NotG bases) and the plastic didn't 'fuse' like it usually does with regular MCP models.

It really feels like the NotG plastic is cheap and not normal.

Anyone else seeing this or am I nuts?

Priest Can Eat Me

I was having a perfectly nice evening playing Hearthstone. Win some. Lose some. Good battles. Enjoyable little back and forth. You know, fun.

Then Priest.

Taunt reborn 8/5 kill face cheap as hell summon a copy of itself ... all for (what might as well be) -7 mana.

So, if Blizzard wants auto-concedes against *two* classes (Priest and Cannon Warrior), they've got their wish.

I won't bother to engage with either.

Krennic

Krennic is my 78th completed model this year ...

We stand here amidst my achievement! ;) :)

I don't care what anyone says, the game is not dead to me.

Abomination All Done

My 58th model of 2026 is complete.

As usual, there are things about it I like, and things I don't, but overall I'm pretty happy with him. Up next, Immortal Hulk.

Moon Girl + Devil Dinosaur

Here they are. Ugh. So poorly done. So sloppy.

Still, they are painted, so ... yeah. :(

Sentinels vs. X-Men

We had our first game of the year last night. Since it was just us (my wife and me) as opposed to some big fancy killer tournament event, and we weren't too concerned about MUST WIN, we decided to base our lists on the super important factors of "what's in the cartoon" and "isn't that cool." :)

So, it was big guys I recently finished vs. voices she liked from the show.

She won. It was fun. Here are a few photos.

I'm soooo gonna put Nimrod together next.

Finished K2

Yep. He's painted. I used a bunch of 1Step from Monument, including mixing it into regular paints. Always learning!

This is my 50th completed model of 2026. I used to get many hundreds done every year, but I'm slowing down, so I'll celebrate this small milestone. :)

Another Trivial Removal Story

Another game. Another learner opponent. Another trivial removal of multiple turns of multiple boards of Paladin dreck. Another blowout loss. 30-0.

How in the hell is anyone complaining about the supposed lack of removal?

Tomb Kings Lineman

This is my test model for a new Tomb Kings team. The colors are a recreation of the scheme I used on my very first Tomb Kings army, back when they got their first Warhammer Armies book. Ah, nostalgia.

(Player number will be added when the whole team is painted.)
