Wich enemy do you think has the most painful death animation?

I’ve always thought the way Kratos kills Wulver has to be one of the most painful deaths in the game.

I mean, you’re already barely alive, and then this giant spartan grabs you by the jaws an literally rips you entire body apart starting from your mouth. That has to be unimaginably painful.

Then again… wulvers are really annoying, so they kind of have it coming 😂

Just finished my first journey through GoW (2018) and Ragnarök. I have a few questions, fellow warriors.

These were my first God of War games ever. I never owned a PlayStation until a few months ago, so this was my introduction to Kratos’ saga, and i absolutely loved it. The story, the gameplay, the combat, the characters… everything.

Since finishing the games, i’ve been watching a lot of videos about armor builds, shields, runic attacks, relics, and endgame strategies because i’m still struggling with some of the toughest challenges, especially the Berserkers and the Valkyries in 2018 version. While watching those videos, i keep seeing players with insanely powerful builds and armor sets, and i find myself wondering: How do i get there?

At the moment, these are my stats in Ragnarök. I’ve completed more than 85% of almost every realm, and I’m still exploring whenever i can. I’ve defeated 6 Berserkers (the easiest 😂)so far, and i’m also progressing through Valhalla, although i’ll admit the roguelite gameplay has been a bit difficult for me to master.

The problem is that i feel like i’ve reached a point where i’m not seeing many obvious ways to improve further. I’m still searching for resources and upgrades, but it feels like i’ve hit a wall.

So i have a few questions for the veterans of the Nine Realms:

Do i need to start a NG+ run to obtain some of the strongest gear in the game, such as the Zeus armor set?

Which areas of the realms should i pay special attention to so i don’t miss important resources, enchantments, or upgrades?

Are there any armor sets that i should absolutely prioritize upgrading?

Are there any common mistakes newer players make when approaching the endgame?

What advice would you give someone who’s still learning the deeper combat mechanics and trying to become strong enough to take on every Berserker and endgame challenge?
Any guidance from more experienced warriors would be greatly appreciated

I just want to say, thank you…

A few months ago, I shared a post here saying that I had finally bought my first PlayStation, and I also posted the games I had bought with it, including GoW Ragnarok. In that post, some people commented, almost as a warning, telling me not to play Ragnarok if I hadn’t played GoW 2018 first, because I was about to do exactly that out of ignorance. I just wanted to enjoy my new PS5.

What a great piece of advice that was.

These two games have been an incredible journey. The story, the gameplay, the combat (although the Heimdall fight disappointed me a little considering what an amazing character he was). Anyway, it has been an amazing experience, and I know I still have many fights ahead, many upgrades to unlock, but that’s also what makes it special: there are still more hours of training and improvement ahead.

Honestly, I can’t wait for Laufey to come out.

The cost of working nights

Recently, I saw a post from someone asking how people working this shift handle dating and socializing. I didn’t comment there at the time, but I wanted to share a bit about my own social experience (and maybe vent a little) working nights. I’d also love for people to feel free to share their own experiences too, whether you’re married or already have a stable relationship, or if you’re single and trying to figure out how to socialize and meet people while working nights.

I’ve been working the 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. shift for about 20 months now at a hotel. As you know, this industry operates 24/7. At my company specifically, we get 3 days off every 15 days. We actually chose that system ourselves because we felt it was better than only getting one day off per week. Most of our days off happen during the week, and usually only once a month do we get weekends off.

I’ve always been a very introverted person, so meeting new people has never come naturally to me. And when I finally do get time off, there’s not much I can do because the people I know aren’t always available whenever I happen to be free. Also, working nights isn’t nearly as social as some people might imagine. Most people go to bed early, and hotel guests usually don’t pay much attention to the front desk staff beyond what they need.

Lately, I’ve started feeling like the loneliness is affecting me more than usual. I feel like I’m missing a real connection with someone, and sometimes I even feel like I’m losing social skills because of how little interaction I have with other people.

I’ve tried going out alone to bars on my nights off just to try and talk to someone, but in my country it’s pretty unusual for someone to go out alone just to have a beer, so people usually don’t pay much attention to you. I’ve also tried dating apps, but I’m not exactly someone who photographs well, and honestly this work schedule has affected me physically too, as you can probably tell.

I don’t know if this feeling is permanent or if it’s just something temporary that could disappear with a little more vitamin D and sunlight.

I just wanted to write this, and like I said at the beginning, feel free to share your experiences if you’ve felt this way too. And for those of you who feel like you’ve managed to maintain a good social life while working nights, please share your tips.

Have a good rest of your shift, my fellow night owls.
