I did this alot in other games successfully, like Star Wars Galaxies, just use mechanics and assets found in game to make an interesting quest. I dont have big resources to provide quest rewards but im hoping basic rewards and the entertainment of unofficial content is worth it.

Heres an example. Player is informed there's a Bene Gesserit mind virus piggybacking unnoticed in some npcs and you need to talk to a few in Arrakeen to look for specific word combinations that indicate they've been influenced by it (using pre-existing dialogue options). When they find the infected one, some aspect of that npc dictates in which DD grid square they should search for a hidden base that is the source of the mind virus. Also clues of where to roughly look within that square (G6 for ex.). That base is set up like a maze/puzzle (if possible). Maybe its in pvp dd, and fellow storyteller as antagonist attacks them before or after they solve it, antagonist makes a good show of it but loses. Some item in a hidden chest at the end of the maze or puzzle must be returned to the quest giver (me, for ex.) for a modest reward and an offer to contact them for the next pwrt of the story when its ready.

I feel like if written well by a big Dunerd it could become a fun distracting for players waiting for content. Maybe work in a high speed bike chase.

Im looking for feedback, ideas on how to use existing mechanics and assets in clever ways that make them seem part of the quest, and people to be actors or help make stories, or if successful run the good ones on other servers. Thoughts?

95% Of ppl on here will say 'lame, waste of time' but ive learned theres always a minority of RPers etc who would be excited for this if done well, looking to hear from them, but all ideas welcome.
