What's that aircraft? (aka do these shapes read well)

These are the current enemy aircraft in my WiP seaplanes adventure game, and while they of course read well to me, the person who designed them, I'm wondering what they look like to everyone else.

Are they at all recognizable as what they might be, what function they might have?

Caveat: some of them are inspired by real aircraft but I did try not to simply copy existing ones.

They are sorted in a conscious manner, the bottom 4 being more advanced while the top 6 are basic ones.

I'll respond below a bit later with a further explanation of them, but for now I would love initial reactions, ie what do they look like to you, a first time viewer?

Or more importantly, are they distinct enough that you can separate them? You may well notice that some of them follow a very similar design, which also has a purpose. I'm wondering if you can tell which is the basic version, and which is the advanced version.

Custom Board Game Miniatures

I started setting up my custom board game miniatures to take a picture, only to realize that I had too many. Not pictured are one-off custom creatures and pieces that would show up in later expansions (bulk detonator, dreadnought, huuli hoarder, naedocyte breeder, glyphid cocoons, etc).

I have an artistic background so it felt only natural when I wanted a lot of immersion in the game I'm designing. Modular miniatures, custom dice, different resource cubes/cylinders, and pearls for currency.

For example the red cylinders represent fuel, in my digital prototype they've been cubes as well, but I knew that for a physical version I'd want cylinders.

I used to have coins for currency, but they always felt kind of dull, then I came up with using pearls so I could have physical ones (they also fit the theme of seaplane adventuring very well).

Lately I've started wondering if I'm leaning too far into my artistic vision, particularly with this physical immersion aspect. I can't help feeling like I'm designing the game of my dreams and might be taking it too far.

Have you ran into any similar issue, if so how did you navigate it?

Also, as a potential board game buyer, how do you feel or where do you draw the line when you see "extra stuff" like this in a game?
