New Denmark poll: Frederiksens Red-Purple Coalition has 54,3% (swipe to see poll ->)

The Red-Purple governing coalition stays firmly in the drivers seat, despite losses for the Moderates, while the Danish People's Party rises into a firm lead in the Blue Opposition. Clearly the other right-wing parties are not happy about this, as it threatens unity in the party, and the rise of DF has made it easy for the left to criticize Troels Lund Poulsen (V) as a 'weak' leader of the opposition and argue that Morten Messerschmidt is pulling the strings. DF's rise might make it even harder for the right-wing bloc.

DANISH POLITICS: The new Minister of Finance sees "rising economic inequality" as the main threat to the west, and hopes abandoning economic caution can win him the top job when Mette Frederiksen leaves office.

Social Democrat Peter Hummelgaard, the previous minister of justice (2022-2026) and minister for equality (2020-2022), has now gotten the huge job of Minister of Finance, succeeding his main challenger to become Prime Minister once Mette Frederiksen leaves, as she is expected to do, Nicolai Wammen. Wammen was a more careful Finance Minister, building a budget surplus and making quiet investments into welfare, but Hummelgaard hopes to build his chances of becoming PM with strong action in the coming term, which will see the nationalization of dentalcare and free public transport for under-22s, and rumours of implementing a Capital gains tax.

Hummelgaard has previously said that the biggest threat to the west isn't immigration, AI or Russia, but instead rising economic inequality.

DANISH POLITICS: As Mette Frederiksen opens to legalize euthanasia, it creates a split in her coalition

Social Democratic Prime Minister, Mette Frederiksen, has for a long time been a supporter of legalizing euthanasia for terminally ill people. The Socialists and Social Liberals support her policy, but many in the Moderates and her own party oppose it.

The Moderates have previously shown the skepticism about the proposal, and in an interview with TV2, the current Social Democratic minister of churches, Ida Auken, expresses her disagreement with her own party leader, saying: "then everyone can casually come in and ask to die".

(WIP) The Traditional "Natural Ruling Party" in European Countries

Definition: A Natural Ruling Party is a political science term describing a party that holds a long-standing, near-hegemonic dominance in a country's elections, leading the public and political analysts to view it as the default or "natural" party of government over multiple decades. Here, i've made *some* stretches in some countries (like Portugal and Spain) where they basically have two.

Generally, i've done 1960s-onwards unless its a nation liberated from for example communism.

I would love to be corrected if you guys think something else is fitting! :)

Asked once again on Trump comments on Greenland, Danish officials repeat their stance that Greenland isn't for sale. 'We are ready to defend every single centimeter of Greenland'

Danish Prime Minister, Mette Frederiksen (S), asked again on new Trump comments at NATO-Conference: "Greenland is, of course, not for sale. We hope that everyone—including our allies—will respect the Greenlandic people's right to self-determination. We are a sovereign state, and we need everyone to respect our territorial sovereignty and independence. We are ready to defend every single centimeter of Greenland"

Foreign Minister of Denmark, Lars Løkke (M) also reiterated this: "If Trump were to decide everything in this world, Greenland would be American by tomorrow. But it is not the case that Trump gets everything he wants in this world."

A more somber Greenlandic Premier, Jens Frederik-Nielsen (D) said: "Unfortunately, we must reiterate: Greenland is not for sale. There must be respect for our territorial integrity, international law, and our right to self-determination"

The Danish government will push data centers to the back of the queue

Under the new Coalition government, the Energy ministry and Climate Ministry have been merged, under Social Liberal Samira Nawa. Nawa announced a new reform package of Danish Energy production, where data centers will now be back of the queue in prioritization.

"We will put societal concerns first, and then foreign data centers will have to come last. We will prioritize areas like defense and health, but also ordinary households and families who buy an electric car and need a charging station," she says.

If a united Nordics could vote (based on current polling)

Used recent polling for each country ( https://www.hs.fi/politiikka/art-2000012014159.html , https://www.svt.se/special/valjarbarometern/ , https://www.dr.dk/nyheder/politik/meningsmaalinger , https://www.pollofpolls.no/?cmd=Maling&gallupid=5656 )

Then, i calculated the populations of each country, then added the amount of votes in that population each party would get, combined them into groups and then calculated a combined percentage for the united Nordics. :)
