This game is lacking in Epic and Legendary Cards

As a card game enthusiast, the lack of Epic Cards and Legendary Cards for each Hero not named Hunter really irked me.

I was expecting at least 2 Epic per card type and 1 Legendary per Card type, not per Hero. Not to mention some of the Epics are just plain ass.

Just finished writing a long chapter. Should I split it?

So I just finished an 8k long chapter. It's one big fight/battle chapter, so when I was writing it, I planned to just let it be a single chapter for pacing.

Now that I finished, should I just split it into two? Mostly so that I can have a backlog chapter (I dont have any)

Do you have a fighter who always miss their chance in gaining a title shot?

One of my favorite things to do is to create high level fighters and see how their careers pan out.

The thing is, with so many high level talents, some of them just ended up never getting a shot at the title, even though they were good enough to do so.

They can reach top 5 (my standard for title fight), but always got beat by other fighters, sometimes lower ranked fighters when waiting for the champion's schedule to align with theirs.

What makes a writing feels shallow?

My biggest fear is someone perceiving my stories as shallow. I tried to show my characters reaction to an event. I also made sure that characters' actions have consequences to other characters' decisions.

Still, Im worried its not enough. In your opinion, what makes a story shallow? What pitfalls I need to avoid?

I realize I used a lot of 'but' in my writing. Im an ESL so my writing can be quite simple, but at the same time, I want to improve it (this one on purpose). What word can I use to replace 'but'?

Or how should I structure my sentece so I don't use 'but' often
