Measurements needed!
Hey folks. Can someone tell me the distance between the rear deck lid edges and the ‘Boxster S’ script?
I need to mount a new badge, and I’ve already messed one up by just trying to eyeball it.
I think if I can get the measurement from the badge to the bottom of the lid, and from the end to the sides of lid, I can line the new badge up.

I’m heading to the Tail of the Dragon for the Rennspeed Dragon Rally in November, driving from Austin.
I have a choice to make.
Do I take the ‘22 C2 (Cobb stage 1 tune, Eibach sport springs, PDK), or my ‘07 Boxster S 6 speed? The Boxtser was a very recent impulse bay, for nice days and a more analog experience than the 911.
I’m thinking the Boxster may be the way to go. Even though the drive out would be much more comfortable in the 911, I think the Boxster would be more fun on the actual drives.
Better to drive the slower car fast? Take the 911 because it’s my show car? There are a ton of silver 987 Boxster Ss out there, but there’s only one Raven.
Thoughts? What would you do?

Added power steering fluid (thanks to all the YouTube content creators for the instructions) and as far as I can tell the noise is gone.

Whine can be heard at low speed, doesn’t sound like it’s from the steering. Definitely rises and falls with RPM, whether the car is in gear or neutral.
Sounds like it’s coming from the front of the car rather than the engine.

It’s official!! Took home my new toy yesterday. ‘07 S, 80k miles. Manual with the original radio!I Freakin’ love the old-school analogue feel and smell. What a great experience to tool around with the top down. This is ‘Lark’.
I have a ‘22 Carrera Sport-Classic homage PDK (Raven) that’s my daily driver. I really wanted a cheap and fun counterpoint to the 911. A car I wouldn’t necessarily want to be commuting in Austin in, but a blast in the Hill Country.
She was a bit rough, but great bones. I spent the day removing the vinyl decals (so much goo that needed to be gone) and stripes (and the badges, as well), a super thorough wash and interior detail, deep clean and protectant on the top, and replacing a couple little broken trim pieces.
I’m super happy to finally join the club.
Now I think I need an 80s air cooled 911….. and maybe a Transaxle car…. And I’ll be good :D
Some nice pics with the newly powder coated wheels. I have one more little thing to do (powder coated center caps plates to match), then really the missing piece is the engine grille. I really want to go with mesh rather than the fins. I need to find someone to make one somehow, I think.

Fifth times a charm! Got the Sport Classic replica wheels powder coated and I think I’m just about done :D
I went with Prismatic Powder Sandy Gold II, dang close to Neodyme and definitely better than the previous versions (for me, anyway).
I’ll take some better pics after a detail this weekend, but wanted to share the outcome.
I still am a little on the fence about the center caps. My wife things the darker bronze (original color of the replica wheels) looks good. I bought some aluminum disks to get powder coated to match the rest of the wheels. I’ll see what that looks like and decide later.
Anyway, she’s just about done!!
