What does Sadhguru mean by “If you hand over your life to me, then there is no sadhana for you”?

Namaskaram,

I came across this statement from Sadhguru:

>

I’m trying to understand what he means by “hand over your life to me.”

Does this mean complete surrender to the Guru?

Thank you

What should be the one main goal of a spiritual seeker?

Namaskaram,

I've been thinking about what the one ultimate goal should be when following a spiritual path.

Is it:

  • To become joyful and loving regardless of external situations?
  • To know/experience the source of creation?
  • To experience the emptiness or nothingness beyond body and mind?
  • Or should we not worry about defining a goal at all, and simply keep doing our sadhana consistently and allow whatever has to happen to happen?

For those who have been doing sadhana for many years, what is your inner goal, if you have one?

Best driving tutor/instructor in Colombo for refresher lessons?

Hi everyone,

I already have my driving licence, but I got it many years ago and haven’t driven regularly since. I’m looking for a good driving instructor in Colombo for refresher lessons to help me get comfortable and confident driving again.

Mainly looking to improve:

  • Driving confidently in Colombo traffic
  • Judging left/right side distance
  • Narrow roads and tight spaces
  • Parking and reversing
  • Road positioning and lane discipline
  • Overall confidence behind the wheel

I’m not looking for driving-test preparation , I’d prefer someone patient and experienced who can properly coach an existing licence holder.

Ideally around Colombo 4/5/6, Wellawatte, Dehiwala, or nearby.

Any recommendations for a specific instructor or driving school would be appreciated. Thanks!

How do I know if I’m doing Shoonya correctly?

Namaskaram 🙏

For those who have been practicing Shoonya for a while, how do you know whether you’re doing it correctly?

If I’m following the instructions exactly and maintaining all the required conditions, is that enough?

Different experiences with Shambho and Brahmananda Swarupa — has anyone experienced this?

Namaskaram 🙏

I've been experimenting with listening chanting Shambho and Brahmananda Swarupa, and I've noticed quite different effects on me.

With Shambho, I seem to get very intense and focused. When I'm working, I can stay completely involved in what I'm doing and get a lot more office work done.

But I've also noticed that during this period I can become more intense with people. If someone interrupts me or something doesn't go the way I want, I seem to get irritated or angry more easily.

With Brahmananda Swarupa, my experience is almost the opposite. I feel much more joyful, pleasant and easygoing. My interactions with people also seem better, and I feel like I create a more positive atmosphere around me.

The problem is that my sharp focus seems to reduce. I become so relaxed/pleasant that sometimes I struggle to stay focused on office tasks and don't complete as much work.

So my experience seems to be:

Shambho → intensity, focus and productivity, but more irritation

Brahmananda Swarupa → joy, pleasantness and better interactions, but less focus/productivity

I'm not saying the chants themselves are causing these things — this is simply what I've observed in myself.

Has anyone else experienced anything similar with these two chants?

I'm especially curious whether, over time, it's possible for the intensity/focus and the joy/pleasantness to coexist, rather than feeling like I have to choose between the two.

Would love to hear experiences from people who have been with these chants for a long time. 🙏

Which would you recommend: Bhava Spandana, In the Lap of the Master, or Ecstasy of Enlightenment?

Namaskaram 🙏

For those who have attended any of these programs:

  • Bhava Spandana (BSP)
  • In the Lap of the Master (LOTM)
  • Ecstasy of Enlightenment (EOE)

If you had the opportunity to attend only one, which would you choose and why?

I’m especially interested in hearing from people who have attended two or all three. How were they different in terms of intensity, inner experience, Sadhguru’s presence, and the impact afterward?

I understand that everyone’s experience can be different, and I’m not going with any particular expectation. I’m just trying to understand the differences from people who have actually participated.

Namaskaram 🙏

Best international calling packages for office/work calls from Sri Lanka?

I regularly need to make international calls for office work, mainly to India ,Europe ,Canada and the US.

I’m looking for a reliable and reasonably priced international calling package from Sri Lanka. Ideally, I’d prefer something with good call quality and either a monthly package or low per-minute rates.

What do you guys use? Any recommendations for the best value international calling option for regular office calls?

Shoonya – Some Days I Slip Into It, Other Days I'm Just Sitting

I've been practicing Shoonya every day for a while now, and I've noticed something that I'm curious about.

On some days, the moment I utter the beeja mantra, I naturally slip into Shoonya. It feels effortless, and the process just happens.

On other days, it's completely different. I utter the beeja mantra, but nothing seems to happen. I'm simply sitting there with no sense of entering Shoonya or any particular energy.

I'm not chasing experiences, but I'm trying to understand what might be happening.

Could this be because I'm not physically or mentally tired enough? Or is it simply the nature of the practice, where some days are deep and other days feel uneventful?

Has anyone else experienced this? I'd really appreciate hearing from long-term Shoonya practitioners.

Has anyone become less emotional after practicing SCK, and Shoonya?

I've been practicing Shambhavi Mahamudra for over two years, and it has been a source of bliss and joy in my life. I was recently initiated into Shakti Chalana Kriya (SCK) and Shoonya, and I've been practicing them regularly alongside Shambhavi.

Over the past few months, I've noticed a significant change in myself. I'm much less emotional and far less affected by situations that would have bothered me in the past. I don't react as strongly, and many things simply don't disturb me anymore.

The challenge is that people close to me have started saying that I don't seem to care as much as I used to. They feel I give them less attention and appear emotionally distant. From my perspective, I don't feel unhappy or disconnectedif anything, I feel more peaceful and stable but I also don't feel the same emotional highs and lows.

I am trying to understand whether this is a natural phase of the practices or whether I'm missing something in the way I'm approaching life. Is this what it means to become less reactive and more balanced?

Has anyone else experienced something similar after practicing SCK, or Shoonya? How did you distinguish between inner equanimity and emotional withdrawal? I'd really appreciate hearing your experiences.

Importing a car to Sri Lanka using my own LC – what are the exact steps after receiving the quotation?

Hi everyone,

I'm planning to import a vehicle to Sri Lanka using my own Letter of Credit (LC) through a local bank. The purchase will be partly financed through a lease, so I won't be paying the full amount upfront.

The quotation breakdown is:

Vehicle + Japan costs: LKR 5,718,300

Estimated import taxes: LKR 7,050,000

Local clearance & service charges: LKR 300,000

Total estimated cost: LKR 13,068,300

I'd appreciate it if anyone who has gone through a similar process could explain:

What happens after accepting the quotation?

When should I apply for the lease, and when should I open the LC?

Does the leasing company pay the full LC amount, or do I need to contribute my down payment before the LC is opened?

What documents are typically required by the bank?

At what stage is the vehicle purchased and shipped?

When are the shipping documents received?

At which stage do I pay the import taxes and local charges?

How does customs clearance work?

How long does the entire process usually take from accepting the quotation to receiving the vehicle?

Are there any hidden costs, common delays, or mistakes I should watch out for?

I'd really appreciate hearing from anyone who has imported a vehicle to Sri Lanka using an LC with lease financing. Thanks!

Thinking of buying an EV – looking for real-world experiences

Hi everyone,

I am considering buying an electric vehicle and would love to hear from people who own or have owned one.

  • Which EV do you drive?
  • How long have you had it?
  • What do you like the most about it?
  • What are the biggest downsides or things you wish you knew before buying?
  • How has the battery held up over time?
  • How much do you spend on charging compared to fuel?
  • Have you had any maintenance or reliability issues?
  • If you had to make the decision again, would you still buy an EV, or would you choose a hybrid or petrol car instead?

So I would especially appreciate feedback from owners here, but experiences from anywhere are welcome.

Would you recommend buying an EV in 2026? Why or why not?

Best place to buy prescription glasses/lenses after cataract surgery? Looking for recommendations.

Has anyone had a good experience after cataract surgery? Which optical shop would you recommend, and approximately how much did you pay for the lenses?

Any recommendations or places to avoid would be greatly appreciated.

Hampden Lane Traffic Nightmare Continues After 2+ Months of Road Repairs

Anyone else fed up with the road repairs on Hampden Lane in Wellawatte?

It's been more than 2 months, and every morning and evening rush hour turns into a traffic nightmare. The worst part is that there seems to be very little progress despite the ongoing disruption.

Not sure why a relatively short stretch of road should take this long to complete. Residents and daily commuters deserve better communication and a realistic completion date.

Hope the authorities can finally get this sorted.

Hi everyone,

Looking for suggestions on buying a car with a budget of under LKR 9 million.

My main priorities are

  • Spacious interior (rear seat and luggage space matter)
  • Decent ground clearance for Sri Lankan roads
  • Good for hill country travel (Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Ella, etc.)
  • Reliable and less time in the garage (low maintenance headaches)

Cars I’m considering

  • Toyota Yaris Hatchback X (brand new, basic model)
  • Toyota Aqua (2012–2024, hybrid, 1200cc+)
  • Honda Fit (2012–2024)
  • Any compact SUVs within budget

I’m leaning toward something practical and long-term rather than chasing features.

Questions:

  1. Which would you pick and why?
  2. Is a brand new Yaris X worth sacrificing space for peace of mind?
  3. Are older hybrids like Aqua/Fit too risky in terms of battery or repairs?
  4. Any compact SUV alternatives I should consider?

Would especially appreciate feedback from owners who use these for hill country driving and rougher roads.

Thanks in advance!
