“Cannot be fired” is too long

Basically the title says it all. 25 years is way too long. 25 years is basically half of the life of your average ruler, so being stuck with a bad council member for that long can really effect your run. All they need to do is trade in 1 weak hook for 25 years of undeserved employment? Should be changed to at least 15 years or lower. Thank you for attending my ted talk.

AITAMy friend is too good at video games for me to have fun playing with him.

My friend recently got a GameCube and Super Smash Brothers Melee. I’ve played all of the smashes (grew up with 64) except this one, but I’m more of a casual player. My friend, on the other hand, is good enough to win tournaments, I swear. He absolutely wipes the floor with me every time we play. I can take it for like 30 minutes tops, but then I start to get frustrated. The problem is, whenever I get frustrated or complain about the game, my friend gets extremely defensive. I’ve told him, “you don’t need to get upset, I’m just bad at the game and complaining.” But he gives me the cold shoulder whenever this happens. I’ve never said anything directed at him, only the game and how hard it is, except one time when I asked him “how are you so good?” And he literally just said “IDK.” We used to play other games that I had more fun with, but now I feel like our hangouts are dominated by Melee, and I’m just not having fun getting 2-stocked every round. It seems like I struck a nerve though, like he needs me to like playing melee with him, because he’s never been more distant. AITA?

Anyone else think the Confederations and Suzerain system is ruining Europe?

Conquering in this region at the 867 start date has become so tedious. In this photo, my neighbor, Poland (polish culture), has decided to join the Russian Confederation. To me, that seems ridiculously unrealistic. There’s already 2 confederations in the West-Slavic region, and every other small state has a Suzerain. In my observations as a die-hard paradox gamer, this happens with every game. It starts out a little rough around the edges, gets polished into a masterpiece, but then the player base gets too good at the game, so they start adding unnecessary complications where the AI targets the player and just bogs the game down and causes more restarts. From a historical perspective, it’s even worse. Medieval Europe didn’t have Suzerains or anything equivalent to them, and I think the mechanic shouldn’t be available to Feudal rulers. Lmk what y’all think, it’s an annoyance but obv I’m gonna keep playing.

They’re redefining “Draw” now too?

I feel like words no longer have any objective meaning. Our anti-intellectualism has ruined our brains.

“My Favorites” Team

This is my fav Pokémon in sword/shield. I created a team and current have them all to at least level 50. Once you have the Pokédex complete this is the next fun thing to do.
