Don't make out with HR

One Friday night we had a company event (investment bank), and we were all a little drunk so a bunch of us kicked on at a nightclub afterwards. I was in a taxi on the way to the club with a woman from HR. One thing led to another and we were fully making out in the back seat, hands wandering everywhere. She was married.

Anyway, later in the night she went home. I then somehow ended up in a laneway with another woman from HR, making out with her and hands under clothing etc. She was so cute. Single.

Come Monday morning, I had to return to a professional relationship with both of them. Awkward. I'm panicking because if they found out that had happened to both of them within a few hours then they could team up to destroy me. I worried every day that my name might come up between them. But in hindsight, I guess they breached company policy too.

EDIT: This happened previously, it's not a live situation

Escargot (snail) pizza

I actually ordered one at the W Hotel in NYC once, purely out of perverse fascination. It had a thinner base than this pic and was dripping in garlic butter. The snails are really soft so you can mush them and smear across the base before eating.

Happening right now, oh wow!

Out of the blue, she called. Jazz? What's up hon? She's my long time friend. She's my friend's partner. She says she's left him. I knew he was no good. It's over. She's free. And she says that all she ever wanted was me. What? No way. I've spent years adoring her, but training my mind to look away. I can't believe this is happening.

How to turn a friendship into a romance? I suddenly feel like I'm living in a movie. I can do this. I'm excited but nervous.

Infusion vs Self-injection

I've had about seven Vedolizumab (Entyvio) infusions and now doing every 8wks. I've had a long break from work and now looking for a new job. It suddenly occurred to me that I'd have to ask my new prospective employer for 1/2 day off work every 8wks. Then I'd probably need to tell them why, and that may scare them off hiring me. So suddenly thinking of asking my gastro to move me to self-injection every 2wks.

Are there any considerations for that? I'm curious why the hospital keep booking infusions and didn't instigate the self-injection already. Are there shortcomings?

Mean Girls

Have you seen the movie Mean Girls from 2004? If so, you'll get the reference. Too funny. Spotted yesterday in Newport (Redcliffe), Queensland.

Brisbane Marathon Festival, healthy culture, not promotion

I'm a logistical volunteer this year (I got a muesli bar as compensation). I was there, dealing with both the easy and the complicated, but blown away by the people who were doing it. Brisbanites, you rock. Any distance, from 2km to the main event. In just 5hrs I now have a lot of inspirational stories. Just when I thought I was dismissive of people, I met so many brave and fab ones yesterday.

EDIT: The support/registration starts days ahead. I'll be up at 4am Sunday (tomoz) for a long trek into the city. That's when it all happens. I guess I'll be dealing with last-minute entries. Cool. Just do it!

Can't Wait Card

When you join Crohn's and Colitis Australia (CCA) you can get a "Can't Wait Card". It's a discreet card that communicates your urgent need to use a restroom to retailers, businesses, and venue operators. For some reason I can't attach an image here. Do you have something like that in your country?

Good for airports and festivals, if you need to jump a line. I often use the private disability loo when out and about and get a look of disapproval from someone waiting outside in a wheelchair. I've never flashed it to them but I've used mine twice. Both were the same situation (restaurant). The customer restroom was closed for cleaning so I showed the staff my card and they happily led me to the staff loo. Because when I eat it can sometimes trigger an immediate need.
