blush & lip products do not stay on me 😭

i've never really been a makeup girl. it's amazing what some people can do, but not only am i so lazy, i also just don't think i'm that good at it.

but after i do my skincare in the mornings (this is also a new feat for me! only just started skincare), i do like to put a little blush and lip product on to just give my face some more colour.

i've got oily skin, which is one of the main reasons i never really did skincare until recently, and i've always had fairly good skin, so i never felt the need to do anything. but, i've started to wash my face, and apply moisturiser and sunscreen in the mornings. since i have oily skin, i've preferred to use cream products when it comes to makeup. i noticed it blends in better.

i use the rhode blush in sleepy girl, and otherwise, even just a soft creamy lipstick on my cheeks and lips works too (i use the herorange ones, they're so creamy!). but i find that no matter what, the products end up disappearing soon after i step out to go about my day. my cheeks go back to my normal skin colour, my lips go back to being pale as fuck (i'm figuring out what the issue with my lips is, i think it's an iron deficiency).

i'm not sure what to do/if i'm doing anything wrong! especially with the blush, mine just literally becomes nonexistent after a bit.

tell me the most ✨ intense, deep, slow burn, incredibly angsty, soul crushing ✨ books you've read that have given you the biggest book hangover

seeking recommendations for some incredibly deep/serious/intense (not a superficial plot/funny/cheerful book), slow burn, angsty, soul crushing books that give you the biggest book hangover!

these are some books of the same/a similar category that i absolutely love and always go back to! (the ones that have a 💎 mean they contain all of the above, the ones that have a 🪝 mean they contain some of the above)

  • the maddest obsession — danielle lori 💎
  • a love letter to whiskey — kandi steiner 💎
  • bittersweet symphony duet, heartbreak warfare, ravenhood trilogy — kate stewart (honestly love all her books) 💎
  • fake empire, cruel summer — c.w. farnsworth 🪝
  • the homemaker, when life happened, a place without you — jewel e. ann 💎
  • say you swear — meagan brandy 🪝
  • the thorns remain, still beating, irreversible — jennifer hartmann (honestly love all her books) 💎
  • in the likely event — rebecca yarros 🪝
  • star-crossed trilogy — alexandria lee 💎

one common thing that i've noticed amongst these books is that all the love stories span a few years. i love seeing how the main characters keep finding their way back to each other!

edit: thx for all the recs! forgot to mention — only looking for CR books (no sci-fi, HR, paranormal, dystopian, etc.)!

in the biggest reading slump everrrrrr pls help

as the title says, i'm in the biggest reading slump, and nothing is hitting for me rn 😭

honestly i'm in one of those situations where i don't even know what i'm particularly craving... like is it a mafia romance? enemies to lovers? age gap? military/men in uniform?

i've started to many books recently that i've had to put down after the first chapter bc they're just not it for me rn...

some books i LOVE and always go back to are...

  • the maddest obsession — danielle lori
  • a love letter to whiskey — kandi steiner
  • bittersweet symphony duet, heartbreak warfare, ravenhood trilogy — kate stewart (honestly love all her books)
  • fake empire, cruel summer — c.w. farnsworth
  • the homemaker, when life happened — jewel e. ann
  • the thorns remain, still beating, older — jennifer hartmann (honestly love all her books)
  • in the likely event — rebecca yarros

maybe that'll help give an idea of what i like?

pls help seriously 🆘 like i can't NOT read, yk?

i NEED to read something SO GOOD and DEEP and ANGSTY and SLOW BURN and MEANINGFUL/DEEP/SERIOUS (not a superficial plot/funny/cheerful book) and SOUL CRUSHING and that gives me the BIGGEST book hangover bc i really need it.

TLDR: *i'm not seeking medical advice, i already know what's wrong! just seeking advice on how to get rid of marks left by bite midges.

i got bit all around my foot/ankle weeks ago. my feet literally look like the photo above!

the itchiness subsided after a few days, but the marks still haven't gone away. this happened once or twice before too, where there were literally small red dots all over my feet from where i got bit and scratched.

only thing i've been doing is applying aloe vera gel after every shower since then. i started doing this when the itchiness became unbearable (i found some relief with the aloe vera gel's cooling properties), and have just continued it since then.

but honestly, i don't feel like it does much for the marks. what should i do?

so i've been using the laneige lip sleeping mask at night before bed for a few months now, and i'm loving it! as someone with pale/colourless dry lips (no matter how much water i drink!), it's so thick and hydrating, and i wake up with my lips feeling so soft. but, it is quite thick for day-time use, so i stick to using it at night.

on the other hand, i've tried the rhode lip treatment. i have the vanilla flavour and it's sooo good. i like how it's hydrating enough, while also not that thick and sticky, so you can use it during the day. but, i'm not based in the states, and it is super pricey to ship to europe! so it's not something i'd be comfortable getting often/whenever it runs out...

i'd been looking into finding the perfect glowy, hydrating lip product i could use during the day, that's long-lasting, and can even be used overnight if i don't have my laneige lip mask with me at the time.

enter: bringgreen bamboo hyalu lip essence. this is the most perfect lip product i've come across! it's literally like if the rhode lip treatment & laneige sleeping mask had a baby. it comes out a tad bit thicker than the rhode one (which is thinner/more fluid), yet applies just like it (same consistency once applied, super glowy, not sticky at all). if you want it to be a bit thicker, just apply 1-2 more coats and it mimics the exact feel of the laneige sleeping mask!

i'm so glad i came across this product. it's an affordable korean brand, fragrance-free, long-lasting, and the tube is 11g, so it lasts a long time too! *this is totally not an ad or anything like that at all! i'm just glad i finally found something that works for me and thought i'd share in case anyone might be looking for something new to try! also, this is a clear lip product, not a tinted one.
