Does anyone else feel safest bed rotting?

I had a week off work (PTO) and spent 80% of it lying in bed or sleeping for like 16 hours.

My bed is 100% my safe place. In the moment it feels amazing, but then after you realise how much time you have wasted doing literally nothing and now I feel disgusting and lazy. I have a lot of regret, but at the same time I don't want it to end. I am dreading going back to work, I just wanna stay hiding in my sheets.

I go back to work on Monday. When someone asks what I did with my time off, I think I am gonna have to make up a lie to not sound depressing or weird.

I have a history of doing this too, since childhood I remember being like this. I used to suffer with agoraphobia and thats when it was at its peak.

Anyway, I realised today I have spent majority of my life just rotting in my bed.

When you tell the hair dresser "just a trim" and she cuts 6 inches 😭

1st pic was BEFORE the hair cut, 2nd pic was after. I just asked for the dead ends to be cut off, thinking shed just cut like 1inch, but she cut so much!!!!

How long is it going to take roughly for my hair to get back to how it was? 🥲

Its kind of insane that teachers are being accused of brainwashing kids over the pauline hanson protest

If you guys haven't seen, some students across Australia are planning a walk out of school protest against Pauline Hanson.

I have been looking at the facebook/tiktok comments under the news posts on this and they are convinced that teachers are the ones "brainwashing" kids to be against Pauline. 🤣 What?!?

I teach year 6s, they are VERY opinionated on being against Pauline. I have never once told them my personal politics.

My students have formed those opinions themselves. I just listen to them and let them form their own opinions. I never show any bias, just show genuine interest in what they have to say.

Its absolutely crazy that some parents automatically blame us for everything.

Did they ever stop to think that their child may just have a different opinion than them naturally? From being their own person with their own opinions?

How many sick days have you taken so far this year?

If you feel comfortable with sharing I would like to hear the general consensus.

I have counted on edupay 7 days this year.... I am feeling really guilty about that.

Can someone be brutally honest with me. Is that a normal amount at this point in the year, or does it seem excessive? Please be honest as possible!

I have been really unlucky this year and gotten the flu twice, which is where most of those days came from.

Do you ever feel dread over a lesson that went really bad?

Someone please make me feel better and share an experience they had that went really wrong.

Let me just have a whinge about why I'm feeling this way right now:

On Friday, for a treat I did baking with my class. It went terribly in the end, the end result was inedible and it was my fault because I read one of the measurements wrong.

I felt so bad the children were so excited to eat what we baked; but they spat it all out cause it tasted bad and they looked really ugly.

I cant stop feeling so stupid for misreading a measurement.

And the worst part was other staff saw how our "baked goodies" turned out and I had to awkwardly explain I messed up directing the recipe. Everyone was nice, but I still felt really stupid!

The kids probably will forget about this, but I still feel really bad I let them down. It was supposed to be a class reward that they earned for good behaviour and they couldn't even eat them.

I wanted to redo the lesson next week, but other staff told me not to bother and the kids still had fun. Maybe I am just too much of a perfectionist, but I feel so disappointed I wasted a bunch of ingredients and ruined their reward.

Ahhh I feel so bad !!!!

Which looks better? Be honest

I tried a wavy hair routine today after my friends begging me to try it. However I am not sure if I like it 😅 maybe I didn't do it right, but I feel like it looks clumpy?

Btw these pics are only 5 hours apart! Crazy difference

How much did it cost for you to become a teacher? (Grand total)

I have been an ed support for 5 years now and I am looking to expand my education. (All I have currently is my cert 4 in ed support.)

I would like to go for my bachelors in education. My colleagues have been motivating me and telling me I'd make a great teacher. I just worry about the university fees because I already struggle financially at the moment.

So what did you guys pay all up for your education? Can a broke girl like me do it too? 😅

Do schools accept online doctor certificates?

You know that site updoc where you put in your symptoms and pay for a medical certificate? Is that accepted for a Victorian employee?

My regular doctor is fully booked till next week.

I had to take the day off because I have the flu really bad. Since yesterday was a public holiday, I will definitely need a certificate.

So before I pay, has anyone else used this site before? Sorry if this sounds like a silly question, I have just never used a site like this before.

I took sick leave for a doctor's appointment, when I am not currently sick. I really needed to have this appointment though. Will the school be annoyed at this?

I need this appointment to get some vaccinations cause I'm going overseas soon to a country where hepatitis and other diseases are a concern. I was honest and told the school this appointment was for the vaccines.

My more experienced coworker told me I was stupid for saying that and the leadership would be annoyed at me. They said sick leave is just for when you're sick, not doctor appointments. They said I should've done the vaccines on the weekend and that is the school expectations for me. (My doctors aren't open on weekends and shut at 4pm 😩)

Im overthinking now and really nervous because I already texted them the day off is for my vaccines and appointment. Will I be in trouble when I go back on Tuesday?

(And yes I will get a medical certificate.)
