What would happen if I accidentally parked in a staff parking spot on the first day of school?

So, yesterday was the first day of school and the parking situation was crazy. There was a lot of traffic, and I spent around 20 minutes trying to find an open parking spot. I eventually parked in a spot that I later realized was designated for staff.

I honestly didn’t realize it was a staff spot until I came back to my car. I’m a student, and it was completely unintentional. What do you guys think is going to happen? Would I most likely get a ticket, warning? Has anyone accidentally done this before?

First time interviewing for an Ambassador position (NCAA Together Empower U Campus Ambassador) — any advice?

Hi everyone! I recently applied for the NCAA Together Empower U Campus Ambassador position and was invited to interview. This is my first time interviewing for an ambassador role, so I’m not really sure what to expect.

For anyone who has interviewed for this position or similar campus ambassador roles:

  • What does the interview process usually look like?
  • What types of questions should I prepare for?
  • What qualities or experiences do they look for in a strong candidate?
  • Is there anything you wish you knew before your interview?

I’d really appreciate any advice or insight. Thanks in advance!

How do I make it out of community college and into a top CS program?

How do I make it into schools like UNC, NC State, Georgia Tech, UIUC, Purdue, or Northeastern for CS or a CS-related major? I'm ambitious and I'll do whatever it takes to get there. I just don't know what it takes. I need a roadmap or advice from people who've actually done it.

I'm at community college right now, and I really want to transfer. What should I be focusing on? GPA? Projects? Internships? Research? Leadership? Essays? What actually matters the most? Anyone who's made it from community college to one of these schools, please help me out. I really want to make it out of community college.

Update on Foundation Scholarship

Hi everyone! I was just wondering—it's already the middle of June. If we haven't received any email about the Foundation Scholarship by now, does that mean we weren't selected?

Help with understanding how the chem-151 class work in online/virtual environment

Hi everyone! I'm taking CHEM 151 online this fall semester and was wondering if anyone who has taken it virtually could share their experience. How are the labs completed (is it extra money to buy the supplies or do I need to go in-person) and how are the exams administered? I'd also appreciate any tips or advice on how to be successful in the class. Thank you!

Need help picking CSC-151: JAVA Programming teacher at Wake Tech CC (Chhatrala, Allister or Wang, Jing)

Hi! I’m planning to take CSC 151 this fall, but the professors available all have pretty low ratings on Rate My Professors. My options are Chhatrala, Allister, and Wang, Jing. I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who has taken classes with them before. Which professor would you recommend, and why?

I’m running out of time to decide, and the seats are filling up quickly, so any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Wake Tech → NC State (Fall 2027): What Should I Be Doing Right Now to Land a Tech Job?

Hello,

I'm starting my Associate in Engineering at Wake Tech this fall and plan to transfer to NC State in Spring 2027. I already have around 30 credits, so I'll likely spend less than two years at community college before transferring. My goal is to apply for Spring 2027, but I may also try to transfer earlier (Fall 2027).

I want to have a clear roadmap for what I should be doing right now. I know GPA and extracurricular activities are important, but I'm more interested in doing hands on projects. what projects, coding skills, internships, certifications, or other experiences I should focus on to actually land a job after graduation.

Right now, I'm interested in Statistics with Data Science or Computer Science with an AI concentration. With AI changing so much so quickly, it's hard to know what skills employers will still value by the time I graduate.

For those of you who have transferred to NC State or are already working in tech, what should I be doing right now to make myself competitive for internships and jobs later on? What projects, technologies, or experiences would you prioritize if you were in my position?

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!
