4 months out of a 12 year relationship and hes already seeing someone

Hi. I initiated the separation from my partner of 12 years. We met when we were kids. I was 16 and he was 17. I love him so much, and he is still my best friend in my mind, but our relationship had become very toxic. As we approached our thirties, our communication skills did not grow with us. During conflict, we reverted to acting like the teenagers we were when we met.

I also wasn’t ready to settle down, and he was. I wanted a bigger life and career, and eventually a family, but not yet. It often felt like he didn’t care about what I wanted from life or feel curious about who I was becoming. He said he wanted to marry me, but he never proposed. He stopped putting effort into our relationship, and I felt like I had to beg him to spend time with me. At times, it seemed like he was only with me because it was comfortable and familiar.

We moved from New York to Colorado to be close to his family. I spent most of my time there alone. On my first birthday, I had to beg him to spend the day with me. We bought a house even though I had tried to tell him I wasn’t ready to settle down. There is so much nuance and history that it is difficult to know what to include, but ultimately, I felt like I had lost all agency over my own life. I felt completely still while life continued moving around me, as though I were watching it pass without being able to participate in it. I didn’t trust that the life we were building together would leave room for the person I wanted to become.

I moved back to New York at the beginning of this year, and we stopped talking in March. There was never any real ending. We just stopped calling each other one day. Since then, he has blocked me everywhere. I tried to call him a few days ago and discovered that my number was blocked too. Then I stumbled across his Venmo profile and saw a picture of him with another woman. I am completely gutted.

I have been working on myself so much. I attended a weeklong personal development training and am doing the advanced level next month. I’m crushing it at work, earning more than I ever thought I could (I never thought I could make money), and building an insane network. But I wanted to become this version of myself for us and for the future I thought we might still have.

More than anything, I miss my best friend. We weren’t perfect, but we grew up together, and there is nobody else like him. Right now, I only want him. We used to jokingly refer to our future children by a name that combined both of ours. It was so stupid, but it always made us laugh. Now I cannot stop thinking about the fact that those children will never exist.

Out of desperation, I messaged him on LinkedIn because it was the only place where I wasn’t blocked. I simply asked him to please call me. I want the chance to talk and have some sense of closure. We don’t have to get back together. Ultimately, I want him to be happy, even if it isn’t with me.

He still hasn’t called. What does that mean? I am so heartbroken.

Sorry this is long. If you're still here - thank you.

When to follow up

Hi! In month 5 of my job search. Currently interviewing at a company. The first interview was with both the hiring manager and a colleague of hers. Second interview was with the director of the department. The second interview took place over a week ago. I followed up after both interviews with the team members i met with and also the talent director. I have followed up with the talent director last week for a timeline on next steps and what to expect. She opened it, but no response. When should I follow up again? Ive detached from the job, I would love to get it but ive been in the game long enough to know if they want you they dont waste time. Just dont want to miss out bc im not adequately following up. Thanks in advance for any advice

have a networking event tomorrow and feeling nervous because of my acne

I have a pretty big opportunity tomorrow and am meeting executives from a company I'm interested in working at for dinner. I'm on my second month of Accutane, and my acne is in a decent place but still noticeable. I'm nervous it will make me seem unprofessional (ik this is not true), but I guess I'm just so afraid I won't be taken seriously. Has anyone gone through anything similar? What was your experience?

Anything more I can do?

Hi! I'm on day 18 of 40mg of Accutane! I have also been on spironolactone since January - my dosage is now 200mg, and I have been on that for a little over a month now. I also take Zyertec daily and have now started fish oil. Is there anything else I can do to help speed up the process and reduce inflammation in my skin? I'm 28 and so tired! I have been dealing with acne all of my twenties. Would love my last year to be acne-free lol.

My current skincare is simple! Sofie Pavitt facewash, Duex moisturizer, SPF and sometimes the CLEARSTEM Cellrenew, which is a hyaluronic acid - and also lots of chapstick! All non-pore-clogging.

I eat a healthy, mainly whole foods diet. Drink lots of water and have only one alcoholic drink per week. I recently did masseter botox for my tmj and last time i did it helped with acne along my jaw line :)

Does anyone else do anything I should try that was beneficial to the process while on Accutane?

Thanks in advance!

Hi! Hoping for some encouragement here as I’m feeling very discouraged:( it’s my 5th month on spiro and I’ve seen no results yet.

Jan-March: 50mg
March- April: 100mg
May - now: 200mg + 200mg doxycycline

I’m turning 29 next month and so over it. I wake up with new painful spots everyday.

Is this purging or irritation? The first photo was taken on March 30, and the second is today. I have currently stopped all activities (azelaic and adapalene) and have a simple routine. How l long until I see it calm down? Currently only doing cleanser, moisturizer, spf in am, icing a couple of times per day, and hypochlorous acid throughout the day. My derm also just upped my spiro dose to 200mg after 1 month on 50 and two months on 100mg. Starting 100mg of doxy on sat. Feeling hopeless and looking for some tips and any similar success stories! TY!

Hi! Wondering if anyone could share their experience with just being on spiro with a simple skincare routine and not using any actives (time seeing results, mg, routine, etc.)

I'm entering my 5th month on spiro. first month and a half I was on 50mg and then moved to 100mg. I used azelaic acid from the start, but over a month ago I started adapalene, and my skin looks so bad (worse than before) to the point where I'm having a hard time even going outside. Wondering if I should just pull back on the activities but I dont want to prolong my results either. I'm in a big transition phase in my life, and it's hard not to feel confident.
