Tall with an XJ?
Anyone over 6 ft tall owning an XJ, are you comfortable? My son claims it's uncomfortable because his knees hit the dash and his head is close to the roof. He isn't much more than 6ft tall.

Way back in the early spring of 1993 there was a massive blizzard that shut down everything from Atlanta up to Indiana. I was a young idiot college student at the time, and my friend and I were determined to drive from Indiana to Florida for spring break. We thought we could beat the blizzard, nope. We got to Monteagle, Tennessee and the interstate was closed, they shunted all of the interstate traffic onto a state road into the middle of nowhere. Our small pickup truck couldn't handle the snow and we ended up in a snow filled ditch. There was no civilization nearby and it was getting dark, we were coming to terms with having to sleep in the truck.
Just as we were deciding whether to burn our remining gas to keep from freezing to death a large 4wd pickup stopped and a fellow knocked on our window. He asked if we were in need of help, but he knew there would be no rescue for us in those weather conditions. He put us in his truck and took two 20 year old men into his house, where he and his wife let us stay for three days until the roads were passable and we could get our truck pulled from the ditch. At day three he arranged for our truck to be towed to his house. After many thank yous, we offered what little money we had to cover our food, but they refused. They gave us their phone number in case we got into more trouble (lost their number years ago). We continued on our way south and made it to Florida.
I have never forgotten their incredible kindness and generosity. I have wanted to find them for years and thank them for taking two idiot young men into their home for three days. Despite searching the internet I can't find any trace of them.
I know its a huge longshot, but I thought maybe someone that is familiar with that area might have heard of them. Their names are Anne and Rusty Garner
Thank you.
Previous owner let the door pins fall out of the door check and I'm guessing a gust of wind must have blown it open and bent the hinge brackets. The front of the door stands out proud from the fender panel and the rear of the door leaves a larger gap between it and the back door. The door closes just fine, but the door seal doesn't seal due to the misalignment. Water intrusion ensues.
Anyway to take care of this without comlete dissambly and bending metal?

23 year biotech veteran here, Director level. Applying for jobs and got an email from an in-house recruiter. They asked me to complete an online assessment test before they would move forward. Out of curiosity I had a look. The first question was 345×13=?. I was flabbergasted. I shut it down immediately. It was just plain insulting and says something about their company culture.
Is this what we have come to now?
So, I bought a 1996 and wanted to make it a daily driver. Everything worked and it made the drive from LA to San Diego without incident. My plan was to replace all high failure rate parts up front.
Top on the list were the key sensors. My goodness, what a fresh hell it has been to find the correct, high quality, replacements that work like OEM. It has been 6 months of me up to my elbows in the engine bay refreshing or replacing every system.
Well, Im thrilled to report there are still ongoing issues clearly caused by a sensor or a weak connector. Here I am again, on the side of the road, trying to diagnose the latest reason my engine died. Still love this XJ, she's almost there!
