Got my card today!

I applied for my card quite a long time ago. I had to order some docs from Manitoba and send along with my application. I wasn't sure if I was going to get approved because many months have gone by. I was pleasantly surprised that I received my card in the mail today. I am less impressed by how old I look in my pic lol. I know it doesn't really change a whole lot, but I'll feel a little more authentic when wearing my sash.

Info needed: Old Polychromos and Guttknecht Manufacturer Stein coloured pencils

I found these in 2nd hand shop in Saskatoon, SK

There are 3 sets of pics.

One is a single pic of a set of 4 Polychromos. Interesting that they have a ":" colon before the numbers. They have nothing on the back.

The next is 3 pics of a single Polychromos with 2 close up pics.

The next 4 are of J.W Guttknecht. I took 3 pics close up of the text.

These have little presence online. I can't find anything about cedar finished Polychromos. There are obviously at least 2 versions of unpainted pencils.

I found a catalogue page from a book in 1864 that mentions Guttknecht coloured pencils. They were sold to Faber in 1907.

AI has helped me with some links but that hasn't produced anything substantial other than the catalogue page.

Any info would be helpful.

Soaked flooring, but not traditional flood. Can I dry it at home?

So, I recently learned that my back seat flooring is soaking wet. Turns out the passenger side front was wet too. But not the driver's side. I am not sure how long it's been collecting water because i drive (where it's dry). Turns out out HVAC evap tank is probably clogged so condensate has been slowly leaking from behind the dashboard into the cabin.

Can I get this water out on my own or do I need to hire someone? The car is a 2006 Lexus GS. I don't want to start ripping things apart because of plastic clips that might break. Hiring a shop will reduce that risk because they do this all the time and are also responsible for replacing broken clips. But I am up for trying things first.

I am wondering if it's ok to tackle this by using my upholstery cleaner every day to suck up water, without exposing the material under the carpet. I did a bunch tonight and got 2 gallons. The one thing thats on my side is that this is all clean condensate water, nothing environmental like a true flooding.

Any advice?

What weather app is everyone using? I am using Weather Network and it's always telling me that rain starts soon, or heavy rain is coming. And then it doesn't rain lol. I have precise location enabled.

Eli5: Are service dogs allowed to get the zoomies and play in puddles and get crazy?

Anytime I see a service dog in public it's 100% business and definitelyin work mode. Surely, when they are allowed to chill out they get the zoomies, even well into adulthood.

Need some encouragement after symptoms on the first day

Hi all. It's only beed 48 hours so I might be a little hasty on my apprehension. I took my first injection about 2 days ago. That day for supper I had a couple buns with peanut butter and honey and a banana. I had insane heartburn that night and it felt like my food was stuck at the top of my stomach. I am hoping it's related to the supper I had. I was so miserable that I couldn't sleep. The next day I couldn't each much. The belching was insane and the nausea was pretty bad. I felt like vomiting would help. Not that I did. I had mostly just crackers and tea. This morning I am feeling mostly better, still nauseous but I'll be able to eat.

I can't help but feel discouraged. I know lots of people have GI side effects that often go away. I can't get over the idea that each injection is going to make me sick for or 3 days.

Also, my doc is wanting me to stop at 0.5mg. I hope she's willing to go higher is that dose doesn't work, she didn't say. She also wants me to go off in a year or so. She said I should expect to lose up to 15%, which would be 30 lbs. I said I wanted to lose 40lbs but she warned me against ambitious expectations. But I keep seeing people who are losing way more than 15%. I am hoping that she will let me stay on it when the time comes. And if I go off and gain 70% of the weight back, I will only be down 10lbs overall.

Context... we are common law spouses and have no need to go through a ceremony. Where I live, common law is literally the same legally as entering into a marriage contract.

So, I want my husband to be happy. I would do anything for him (almost!) He says he wants to only go through a ceremony if we get married by Elvis in Vegas. I can go along with that and it is plausible. But we've been discussing legally changing our surnames so they are the same. Neither of us have any sentimental value attached to our family names. I was thinking of going with something neutral and is easy to spell over the phone (I am insanely pragmatic lol). He wants us to be named Metal. Can you imagine?! We both like metal music so it fits. I love him and would like to go along with his idea. I figure you only live once so if he wants us to be the Metals, then why not? I am always touting to have as many experiences as possible, especially if it's outside the norm.

I know we don't need to have the same surname, but it's a parameter in the narrative of the scenario. This is a serious question, but not an overly serious issue. I am happy to keep my current name too.

I use coloured pencils and/or graphite for my art. I got my hands in 205 alcohol markers for $20. I see YouTube videos where people lay them down and use pencils over them. Coloured pencils literally take hours to cover large spaces (and details lol). How do you cope with putting in the effort with alcohol markers knowing they will fade in a year or two? I was thinking it would be good to make a print, but it still seems like a waste of time. I really love some of the things alcohol markers can do.

I know the lightfast solution is watercolour, but I can't seem to get the hang of it. All videos of watercolour painting is magic lol. I will get there lol.

I don't engage in the dice game but I sometimes get a message saying I timed out. How can I time out if I haven't accepted a match? I don't want those to count towards my overall losses. I know they are just stats on a game. First world problems lol.
