Tardive dyskinesia

Even on 18.5mg (lowest dose in the UK) l get symptoms of TD. Tongue thrashing, teeth grinding, jaw moving and an inner feeling of restlessness. Only Clonazapam helps but Dr wants me off it and won't listen. Only drugs I'm aware of available in UK I've tried and Clonazapam is the only thing that offers relief. It's kinda counter intuitive really because l also am on Dexamphetamine for ADHD and antipsychotics knock off the effects of the med enough but with Clonazapam on top it's pointless. I have to say though Clonazapam has saved me in times of serious crisis. Psychiatrist won't let me try any other antipsychotics due to cost and I've tried all the cheap ones readily available. I don't know what to do 😔

Lamotrogine with Estrogen and hair loss solutions

So I've had to go back on lamotrogine despite being so conflicted about starting it again but I'm so unstable and unwell. The reason l stopped it last time I'd because it triggered telogen effluvium, so l experienced major hair loss. It grew back after l stopped them but then l started to lose it again as l developed androgenetic alopecia where you get male pattern baldness on the temple when l started perimenopause. Then adding sertraline made it even worse. I'm doing all the right things to combat it but to no avail. And now I'm back on lamotrogine (started 25mg just now) l know it's going to get a lot worse.

I'm doing all the biotin, collagen viviscal and it's not really doing anything. I even bought a mega expensive led hair helmet but returned as didn't see much improvement. Tried topical minoxidil but the itching drove me crazy.

GP as referred me to a dermatologist but she said it's a two year wait. So l have to do it myself. I am going to buy oral finastride and oral minoxidil but heard finastride can sometimes cause depression and mood changes, as anyone tried either of these?

Has anyone who experienced hair loss on this med managed to combat the hair loss as l am desperate and l don't know where to start buying lace front wigs in the UK l can try and return if not right as they are so expensive.

Also what will happen with my HRT being back on lamotrogine as l know lamotrogine and estrogen replacement work against each other. I must add though it's topical estrogen by patch and gel so because it's transdermal and not oral estrogen it may be okay. My GP is useless and knows nothing about lamotrogine affecting estrogen and vice versa l had to explain it to her.

Is anyone on hrt and lamotrogine without any issues I'd love to know? Sorry for the long post but I'm desperate for advice and support. I've been failed massively by professionals and lost confidence in them. Thanks for reading 🙏🏼❤️

Uncontrollable tongue/jaw movements on antipsychotics

I have Tardive dyskinesia from Lurasidone (Latuda).I'm from the UK and valbenazine (Ingrezza) and deutetrabenazine (Austedo) are not licensed here.

I also take ADHD medication, and antipsychotics reduce the effects of my ADHD med Dex.

Only things we have here are anti Parkinson's drugs tetrabenazine and Procyclidine but tetrabenazine acts as an antagonist to dexamphetamine and Procyclidine does nothing for TD.

No other antipsychotic as worked but Aripiprazole and that gave me Akathisia even on the lowest dose possible.

Will Clonazapam also act as a antagonist to dexamphetamine? My Dex is already much less effective from the antipsychotic alone so l just dont know where to go from here. I'm so stuck at what to do. I need my ADHD meds to function yet l need antipsychotics to give me peace from my mind. I haven't seen a psychiatrist for over a year because our health service in the UK is in a really bad state and mental health was first to be cut. I have to relay information to a third party (nurse mainly) and they pass on my concerns. The psychiatrists are not great on the NHS and very reluctant to do anything. I just need to know what to push for or what avenue to pursue as I'll only get one chance.

Just wish l could go private but you can't get health insurance in the UK for pre existing conditions it doesn't cover them only new conditions. Please help 🙏🏼

It's been 8 weeks and I'm worse!

So I've been on fluoxetine for many years. Only changed to them no longer working effectively. Changed to others and went back on fluoxetine a couple more times. Psychiatrist wanted to put me back on them again after being on sertraline which made my hair fall out. So it's been roughly 8 weeks and I'm in a terrible state. I know they take 12+ weeks to even start to work if they will work because l know this drug all to well. I don't even understand why the psychiatrist wanted me back on them when they stopped working before. It was all done in my absence because seeing a psychiatrist in the UK is impossible. As anyone else got worse around the 8 week mark? as l can't remember the other times l was on it. My memory is fried. I'm taking 40mg should l increase to 60mg? Im so angry and crying all the time. She also put me on Risperidone which l stopped after 2 days as hated so stopped as it made my ADHD Dex meds stop working. I feel so lost and I've no one to speak to. My GP won't deal with meds Prescribed from the mental health team and the mental health team are letting me down so badly. Please help 🙏🏼

Hi all. I'm having an horrific time with the worst anxiety of my life. It's destroying me. I read about pregablin being for anxiety not gabapentin so l questioned it and she said they are basically the same thing. Is this true?

Wondering which has the most side effects too because the more l am "out of it" so to speak the better as it gives me peace from my crazy thoughts. My anxiety is so bad now l can't even talk to people without them thinking there's something wrong with me and l used to be able to mask it so well.

Should l insist on pregablin?
