First off, I just want to thank everyone from the bottom of my heart. Our fundraiser reached $705!!! Our original goal was $500 so I could cover the rest on my credit card, and we actually surpassed it. That took a huge amount of financial stress off of me, so thank you all so much for the love, support, shares, and donations. It truly means the world to us.

Kit is already hobbling around and doing surprisingly well! She’s been giving and getting lots of love. Right now I have her staying in my small bathroom since I have other animals in the house. I’ve been considering getting one of those pop-up play pens so she can have her own safe space while still keeping her movement limited during recovery. Does that sound like a good idea?

Also, they didn’t send me home with any medication, not even pain medicine. Is that normal? I know I should’ve asked while I was there, but it didn’t really hit me until I got home.

I’m also unsure what to do about the cone. They said she could take it off to eat, but I’m nervous that if I remove it, she won’t let me put it back on afterward. Any suggestions?

Any other recovery advice is welcome! I don’t have a ton of experience with cats, and I’ve never gone through a surgical recovery with an animal before, so I’m learning as I go. Thank you all again for everything!

My younger brothers (15) cat got injured and needs a leg amputation I nor my family have the funds right now to afford the whole $900 amputation. I’m currently in school and both my parents work and can hardly afford to pay the bills let alone pay for this cat’s amputation. I’ve listed the go fund me if you feel inclined to contribute we would greatly appreciate it. I did contact or local humane society and the aspca in our state but neither of them could assist us. We are currently at $680 and the overall goal is $900. Every penny helps take financial stress off our family, but at this time we do have kit at the vet and will be using a credit card to pay the $220 and if we receive anymore donations it will go towards to paying that off.
