(Rant) I just finished my first day at my first office job. I feel weird!

Hey all, to clear all confusion - for the last 9 years, up untill last Friday, I've worked construction, warehouse and retail and random part-time jobs. I've been working ever since I turned 17 with some gaps for studying and university. Every single job I had so far was somewhat shitty - either the working hours, or the pay, or the fact that I'm too tired to even get out of my car when I get home and every free minute I have I spent just resting my body. 2 months ago I applied for an office-based position in a local company that basically offers the complete opposite - Monday to Friday, fixed hours, home-office for a few days of the month, freedom to choose when I have lunch or take a smoke break or even go to the bathroom. The only thing they care is that the job is done by the end of the day - everything else is entirely up to you. Of course there's some corporate stuff involved that are still extremely new and unknown to me but I'll probably get used to that.

What was totally frightening for me was the fact that for the first time ever I took a proper lunch break, didn't have to check in with anyone, didn't have to sign in a book the moment I stopped working and went to have lunch, time 30 minutes, and sign in the same book again on the dot.... I took a whole freaking hour, if not even more, and I just... sat on a bench in a nearby park, had my lunch in peace, smoked a few cigarettes, talked on the phone and didn't have to check my watch anxiously every 2 or 3 minutes. At the exact 30 minute mark my arms and legs started shaking almost uncontrollably from the thought that I was gonna get in trouble for not being as punctual as I'm used to be. I know for some of you that's the norm but to me... that's something new... the other things is that for the first time in my life I actually have energy left at the end of day and I can actually do some of the things that I wanna do and love doing. And my coworkers in my department have been great - I didn't actually see any of the hypocrisy and two-faced-ness that I'm used to seeing in people working an office job. For the first time in my life I actually don't dread going to work tomorrow.... I'm confused... what's going on?!

Don't get me wrong - I'm definitely not a huge fan of meetings, endless emails, being stuck on a desk or even hushing my voice because it's an open space office.

TL:DR - First "normal" job in my life and the freedom feels weird. The corporate stuff too...

Docking station for Lenovo Legion 5 Pro

Hey all, I've been using my Legion 5 Pro 16ACH6H (Ryzen 7 5800H, RTX3060, 16GB RAM) with a 1440p@165Hz monitor through the HDMI port for the last 2 years, but I want to connect it to my TV for some chill movies and console emulators so I'll need a docking station. My question to you is what station would you recommend for that purpose? I want both screens to stay connected at all times, clean up some of the cables from my desk (3,5mm jack, USB hub cable, HDMI cable, etc). Also is that possible only through the rear USB-C port of my laptop or is it just a daydream?

When do you know you have too many colors?

Hey all, I've been into art ever since primary school, that's what I studied in both high school and university both as a bachelor and then as a masters degree. I've always dreamed of having the biggest, baddest set of any colored medium, mostly watercolor pencils and regular colored pencils, but a few years ago, unexpectedly even for me, I really got into comic books so, naturally, I decided I wanna dip my toes in comic book coloring. I immediately ordered the 168 color set of the Ohuhu alcohol markers and ever since I've tried to use them as intended. Here's what I found out - that's way to many color options, some of them are so close that I find them almost indistinguishable between one another. Same with watercolor pencils - the biggest set I've gotten my hands on was I think 120 colors - again, way too many options. I've been trained in more classical mediums like pencils, charcoal, chalk and gouache and, for instance, when I'm using gouache I don't really need more than 10-15-20 colors at most because I can mix and blend them to my liking and get the results I need quite easily. My girlfriend got a cheap set of, I think, 32 colors alcohol markers and I've managed to use them more efficiently than my own set. I've always been more of a concept/study/graphics artist and not so much a painter, if that's of any significance.

So... my question to you is - do you ever feel like you have way too many options in your color pallete? Have you found yourselves in an option paralysis situation? Am I going crazy or it's not just me in that situation?
